Help me make the best out of FRESH 1.1

I've finally taken the plunge & rooted my cdma Hero
Now, I have a few questions that, either weren't
allready or that I just couldn't find. First is I came across something, from the guy who made Fresh 1.1. Saying that, even thou he added app2 sd, he did not
recommend it. He went on explaining how it did not
matter whether the system has 39. Of internal
memory or 139.mb(not the exact #,but you get the
idea)
Can any of you tell me whether it's actually better
or faster to have apps running of the card? It'll
help if you got fresh1.1, that way I'll know it's gonna work for me.
Also I read somewhere about apps. that improve performance on rooted phones. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE HELP

It's "better" in the sense that you have essentially unlimited storage for apps, as opposed to the ~140megs you start off with. But then you have to be careful whenever you remove the memory card or mount it for file transfer with a pc. Think of it like a PC; if you had all your PC apps on a hard drive and you just unplugged that hard drive while all those apps were running (a great number of Android apps stay running persistently), your PC is gonna throw a hissy fit. Really, unless really have used up all the internal storage of your phone, you really don't need to run it, which is pretty much what Flipz said.

Also while this is just guessing and I have no links to support it, I can't imagine apps running any faster off a memory card as opposed to internally.
