I got the phone yesterday and I have to say that I'm very impressed with the the look, feel and snappiness of it. I'm coming from a 1st gen mytouch and I think at least twice a day I would have loved to smash that phone. So far the only thing I don't like is all of the preloaded apps I don't want and can't get rid of.
If anyone is planning on getting the phone and has any ?s before they buy feel free to ask...

I feel the same way about all of the preloaded apps. What I love the most about the new SK 4G is the keyboard. I feel it so soft when I type than my SK LX 2009, my favorite. What I miss the most is sound profiles that the previous SKs had. Mine was originally a siren but changed to telephone. I loved the feeling of the vibration each email or text message arrived in my SK. I also miss creating my own themes. Oh well. All I have to do is be patient with my new SK 4G and learn all I can. :)

I miss the Sound Profiles, too. I Use "Quick Settings" so I can manually adjust them -- I also use "Silent Toggle Widget" to Force a "No Vibe" setting (though it still does not stop "Haptic" feedback vibrations)

both are free apps.

I also replaced the default calendar app (which sucks) with "Business Calendar Free"

Actually I like the pre-loaded apps cloud texting is a great concept and ability to watch live tv is a plus in my book its not like it boggs it down like past phones the device is absolutely smoother than my old nexus S which is weird.

My wife has had this phone for about 8 weeks. I don't think there is a day that goes by that it doesn't lock up, and at least 4 days a week has to have a battery pull to resolve that. Problem is always related to something that twlauncher (e.g., touch wiz launcher) is doing underneath the surface. It is a pity because this has such potential.

Mine reboots a few times a day and also freezes up - sometimes it unfreezes on its own but other times it requires a reboot. vey frustrating.

I noticed if i put it in airplane mode before using heavy games, that sometimes helps.

Hopefully they send an OS (or whatever the layer is over android) update as well as an Android update (to Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich or whatever is next for us post-Froyo).

To be honest, I still have mixed feelings. It has pros & cons. (some just android in general). Danger OS was much more solid and reliable - it did what it did very well. it was EXCELLENT at multi-tasking. Androids - not so much. can be very slow when going between apps. apps work well but none work WONDERFUL. there is NO Instant Message client that compares to Danger Sidekick's.

Keyboard is excellent as always but everything else is "acceptable" but nothing else out there with a great keyboard in the mid-range for pricing.

I am now 24 hours in...this phone is a joke. its slow to open any app,(ive only installed 2 apps so there is space) the web browser locks up and/or force closes all the time, I got 2 texts a day late and one an hour late, it locks up and I cant get the screen on unless I slide it open and closed repeatedly....worst android phone I have ever used and I had a 2.2 MyTouch 3g
