If I am using Launcher Pro or some other launcher on my rooted Evo... Is it at all possible to completely delete Sense UI from the phone? I'm not talking about changing the defaults... I want to completely remove it from my phone. Free up space. Maybe benefit from a slight speed boost...

not sure if this works on gingerbread or not, but here is Calkulin's Remove Sense.zip. just make sure to have a launcher already up and running before doing this. and also make a nandroid as well.

there are also two sense roms that have sense removed that you can try. one is valpeak and the other is evononsensegb. you can check them out in the rom/kernel sticky.

I actually never looked into the miui themes.. I'll have to do that after I give up on Mikg 2.1 + 3.0 sense rom (really in need of a custom kernel).

I tried the Mikg2.1+3.0... I liked it a LOT... but the battery! Wow. Almost non-existant. I've been using miui for a couple days and yeah, it's HIGHLY iPhoney. It's strange not to have an app drawer, and for all that I hear about how customizable it is, all the themes kinda look the same... all very iPhoney.

I'm gonna keep looking.

Another thing I wonder about AOSP roms... why do they take so long to boot? Compared to, say, Stock Turbo 3.7?

+1 on myn's work, I've always been fond of his ROMs.

About Calkulin's Remove Sense package, all it does is remove packages (.apk files) from the system, it doesn't do anything to remove the Sense UI skin that htc implements - you'll still have the green graphics. In order to completely remove the Sense UI skin you'd have to theme framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk. But if you're going to all that trouble you may as well install an AOSP ROM. Calkulin's package does, however, get rid of a ton of what I call bloatware.
