Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) | Current Version: 09122011

I recently installed this mod by playfulgod love it by the way, but noticed a few glitches, some pictures wont download nor videos meaning as of pictures that is sent to me ie video, what do you do to fix that situation? Cuz some pictures its not allowing me to DL.
This is a actual ROM not just a MOD ;) This is a hard one for me to say on as I cant test it myself but will make sure my testers check it out on the next build. I am assuming this is on data? or wifi (wifi I can test)?

PS: I would love to hear what some of you like to stick with. If you don't jump to the latest/greatest, what's you favorite to stick with.

All my best...

I too reverted back to 0514. The newer build gave me Wifi issues, that while could be worked around, were just a pain, also, having force close issues, and SD card mounting problems, every hr or so my phone would say SD card unexpectadly removed. None of those issues with 0514 for me, I'm running it w/o the kernal OC'd, so just at 710. But even at 710 is seems pretty snappy!

I think a lot has to do with my SD card itself though. My wife has a 32 gig that works with the new PG build just fine, no errors, force closes issues, just wifi prob that can be worked around with a static IP.

I think they are all pretty awesome though, and BIG thanks for everyone that puts all that time an effort into helping us make our little POS phones a little better!!! :D:D

YW, some ppl just dont realize how much time it takes. Isaac is the one that really put a ton of time in on getting all to work. Just to complie it can take 30min to a couple hours depending on the machine its built on. Setting up a linux vm or installing linux and getting it all setup to dev android in. And then getting the src all together and to build and then to flash, and then get everything to work. And thats working with a repo that had everything you needed, doing it all from scratch, well I'll let you imagine that one lol.

believe it or not i'm still on the 06182011 build, downloaded alot of apps (completly frankenstien). suprisingly everything working from camera to video & all the apps i have working smoothly. even change bootanimation works awsome. i heard good things about BobZ rom but i'm kool with the one i have unless they make major improvements, not that i expect PG & BobZ to do. i'm happy where i'm at...

side note smart thing to add Acend name after Huawei name comes out @ boot

has anyone tried CM7.1-RC1-Acsend-BobZ (07-01-2011) ?

I decided to get my flash fix and try it out.. Works great! Which is awesome because I got flash happy and realized I didnt back up current as soon as I clicked Yes on Factory Reset :D One thing I did come across was after flashing MetrOFF after first boot, went to turn on wireless and kept getting disconnect errors.. Threw it in airplane mode, reboot, outta airplane mode and it worked like a charm.. Not sure if the airplane mode is needed or it just needed more settling in to do but if anyone comes across this too no need to panic.. :D

I wouldn't be alarmed about those stats, they're just percentages of what you've used. That in itself isn't cause for alarm.
Just watch the battery meter in the notification bar.If it seems to be draining rather quickly, then,a look @ the battery stats may be in order.
There are two things you can do to actually help overall battery performance.

1)Fully charge your battery to 100%,then,unplug,go to CWM recovery & wipe battery stats.Run the phone unplugged all the way down to ZERO,then, fully charge again to 100%.
This should be done every time you switch ROMS.

Should the phone be off while charging? My stats have been acting screwey lately.. like going from 100 to 92% in seconds after unplugging or from dead to 30% while charging.. Extremely unaccurate.. This should fix it?

I'm not sure about the phone being powered on or off while re-charging during this re-calibration process.

There are apps in the market that pretty much do the same thing as the CWM wipe battery stats function, though, the apps may have more detailed information on the subject.I've also observed that the battery indicating can show a drastic drop at both ends of the charge spectrum.(FULL CHARGE & LOW BATTERY Conditions)

There is a thread floating around A/F (somewhere) covering all the battery stats/calibration/charging/indicating issues.
Again,GOOGLE is your friend on this issue. You might also want to look up 'Bump charging' when researching the subject.

Some attachments with my exchange mail account & Ymail I cannot open until I get on a PC or use a PDF app.
As for not being able to open pix & video attachments sent via MMS,I haven't experienced any problems w/that particular problem.Delivery of SMS/MMS used to be hit or miss, but, once receiving MMS,opening attachments hasn't been a problem for me.I've heard some here use GO SMS to resolve their SMS/MMS issues.

I see what you mean.I believe that is the layout due to the stock(ADW) launcher.
Try loading up LAUNCHER PRO or GO LAUNCHER & see if the UI/layout reverts to a horizontal format.

yea ADW launcher was the problem but is there a way for launcher pro that you can actually edit the Menu of your home screens? some options are different

Just installed PG last build and maybe I don't do this right but it's a pain to reinstall every apps. I backed up everything with Titanium and restore most of them.
And do you think PG or BobZ will ever fix the camera's problem? We cannot use anything else than the default camera, no barcode scanner or FXcamera or anything else using the camera.

Over than that, works great, thanks. The boot up German stuff is a little weird :D
not unless we can find better driver(s) and libs for it. You have to remember GB 2.3.x was never intended for this phone, so w/o src code for everything on it, it prolly never will be 'perfect'.

You can utilize LAUNCHER PRO to create almost any shortcut imaginable & place the shortcut on your homescreen(s).
There are also many icon replacement apps available to totally customize the look/feel of your homescreens.
