Hello,

I recently got the Gingerbread update (2.3) and i'm experiencing the wifi problems. It is impossible to work on Wifi which prevents me from syncing with winamp, htc sync, etc...

I want to downgrade to 2.2.1 but it does not work.

I downloaded the exe file from;

RUU_Ace_TELUS_WWE_1.84.661.1_R_Radio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2_release_168987_signed.exe - download now for free. File sharing. Software file sharing. Free file hosting. File upload. FileFactory.com

I run it, it starts but then i get an error saying "BOOTLOADED VERSION ERROR". This is a TELUS Branded phone and I want to keep the same radio... What is preventing me from doing the downgrade?

Thank you

Hi Flixxx - If you already have Gingerbread, then you would have to Gingerbreak your phone, before you could downgrade it - there's a full set of links to the "how to's" on the net here - http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/354749-how-root-install-custom-rom-desire-hd.html

You cannot simply "downgrade" by putting a certain version of the firmware on your phone - if you read the thread and links and then, if you need any help, feel free to ask :)

Thanks,

I tried the assigned ip address and it didn't do the trick. I want it to be seamless so turning off the 3G is not convenient for me.

I don't want to root persay, I want everything stock just the way it was. I'll read the link you provided me and get some info. My main question is after i downgraded by following the steps will it be unrooted and back to 2.2.1 with the TELUS radio, bootloaded and firmware?

I guess there is always that way to look at it! ;) I just went with the links to how to root, as Flixxx's already been trying to downgrade! :)

Aye, fair do's. Was just thinking of an easier solution than rooting.

flixxx, I'm not sure what the RUU's contain, I presume they contain everything associated with that particular variant of the software and given the name of the file you're looking at, it's probably safe to say it will contain the radio.

Great,

thanks El Presidente and your guide linked is fantastic. I should be able to stop at the downgrade and then just add the RUU... no need to go further :)

The only problem now is that I have the latest version of Gingerbread and none of the downgrade tutorials work at the moment;

This post pretty much sums up where I get stuck;

[GUIDE] How to downgrade 1.7x/1.8x/2.x to 1.32.405.6 - Page 175 - xda-developers

So now I wait...

I downloaded the beta RRU version of gingerbread 2.33 for htc desire bravo on HTC website and found the bootloader is locked, and will not let you downgrade back to 2.2 using the RRU program.

only way i could go back was using Revolutionary
check your model and bootloader input this into their keygen
sets bootloader to s-off ,
download these drivers for htc desire
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
(make sure you uninstall htc sinc first!!!)
optional...
install clockworkmod recovery using internet connection during unlocking, or ADB afterwards
download their su.apk ZIP (in wiki page)

install su.apk ZIP in recovery (hold down back button+ power on)
http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
and it totally rooted 2.33
or just run the 2.2 RUU to go back
so glad this worked for me , some people say their phone couldnt text message after installing the 2.33 rom this worked on my htc desire bravo ,
other models are avalible to unlock here hope it helps !
