so this ROM from PG (PlayfulGod) CM7.1-Ascend-06242011_signed.zip
that i've flashed before, is acting weird. I decided to flash the oc kernel witht the ROM. So this is what i am doing
_____________________________________

Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Advance->Wipe Dalvik Cache
Mounts and Storage->format boot, data, system, and cache (in order)
install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard->
CM7.1-Ascend-06242011_signed.zip
gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
update-kernel-2.6.29-chaosOC_748-0521-0624-signed.zip
MetrOFF-v1.3-MMS-GB-Edify-CM_ASOP-No_Roaming_indicator_Off_signed.zip
Advance-> Fix Permissions
________________________________________
Is there something wrong i'm doing to be staying at the Tron Android Blue screen? Or is the First boot just really long?
-Thanks in advance

Works well w/o the oc kernel

And is there a way to fix this problem? If not, Is there another way to overclock to 748 mhz in PG's CM7 Latest Build 6242011?

No,that's exactly what I told you in another thread, that if your phone doesn't like 729 or 748 that it would immediately reboot, meaning your phone can't handle anything over 710.
Don't feel bad, most phones can't handle 748.Some can't even handle anything over 600,so,consider yourself fortunate that you have an above average phone that can handle 710.

Menu > settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > CPU settings

Make sure you don't have "Set on boot" checked until you're convinced your settings are working good for you.

ive tryed to do it this way im acually trying to get it to 710 or higher the highest bobz07082011 build will let me go is 672 doing it this way i would switch to the newest build with 710 built right in but i love the way this rom runs and works just adding the extra performance i want on it now

You are running BobZ's Lazy Ascend ROM thats why you cant go any higher. His other 0708 build is 729.

Heres his 729mhz build. http://www.mediafire.com/?tvulmvft2rurqq6

That kernel overclocks to 748. Be warned tho ALOT of phones hate that kernel. Mine hates it too. But if you want to try it yes you can run that with BobZ's build. Just put it on the root of your sd and flash it over.

Make a nandroid back up first so incase your phone doesnt like it you dont have to reflash and start over.

Yeah you dont have to repartition your sd. Just wipe everything like normal. Format boot, system, cache data and sd ext. I always format the sd too. Formatting your sd will wipe everythign on it tho.

Heres the 748Mhz kernel. Most likely your phone wont like it. Alot dont.
Issacj87's 748 kernel for CM7 Ascend.zip

You will have to reflash the gapps and MetrOff again.

Heres the latest gapps. I couldnt get the original ones for these to work on BobZ's build so I edited the update-binary file so they work now. Just flash them like normal.

08282011 (Compat with BobZ's CM7's)gapps.zip

A2sd or DT's a2sd which comes with CM7 is so all of your apps and dalvik can run off your sd card instead of your internal memory. You sd card has to be partitioned for it to work and also a class 4 or higher sd card is recommended, If you have already partitioned your sd card when CM7 boots up it will automatically move everything to your sd card.

Hook your phone up to your computer and copy all the file to a new folder on your desktop. Then unplug and reboot into recovery and wipe everything and format everything. Then pull the battery out (unless you have the 3.0.2.8 recovery just go to power off) then remove your sd card throw it in the computer and throw everything back on to the sd card from the files you copied. And put the rom gapps and metroff on there too and flash the rom and gapps and skip the metroff for now, and reboot.

I always start over from scratch. I always format everything and put the rom and gapps only, on my sd flash them and then reboot and rebuild everything. I do transfer one old file over after I get it set up which is my contacts folder. But besides that I dont transfer anything from the last rom I was running.

On your sd card you will see 4,6,8, or 10 with a C around it. Thats the class of your sd. (or you'll see nothing. if theres nothing its a crappy card. Get a new one)

Heres 2 recoveries that arent in Rom Manager,
3.0.2.4- http://www.mediafire.com/?g4ic2w1346rh49x

3.0.2.8 - http://www.mediafire.com/?5v4d3qpgf514358

Put them on the root of your sd card and type this in, in your terminal emulator:
su (hit enter)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/name-of-recovery.img (hitenter)

** "name-of-recovery.img" meaning that part should read whatever the recovery img reads when on your sd card. So if it says recovery.img make that last line say that. Or if it says 3.0.2.8 recovery.img make that last line say that. and so on

I couldnt really tell you to be honest. I did how ever partition my stock 2gb card that came with the phone just as a test run because I partitioned it on the computer but I havent used it tho. Class 10 is the best. And it just depends how much room you want. I have a class 10 8gb which is on sale at Bestbuy for 19.99 right now. Its usually 29.99. You can go up to 16gb.

i just got a class 4 8gb SDHC what should i partition it to? im going to be putting on the bobzbuild you were so greatful to give me should i install that and gapps and boot before flashing mms? and is it possible to use my old sd just to put back ups on to use whenever i need?

I had my 8 gb partitioned to 1024 mb, but that was probably overkill, I don't think it's possible to fill that up without lagging your phone to a standstill. Just go with 512 w/ 32 swap. It'll work fine.

Just go with 528 and 32 like Scur said. 528mb is half a gb which is still ALOT of room for apps. Yeah you could do that. My 4gb card that I had before I got my 8gb still has all the files and stuff on it so its pretty much a back up.
