Good morning my Incredible Friends. Sorry to hear about the loss of your phones Goat and blkbeltkid. I finally got tired of the crackling in my rear speaker so I broke down and bought a replacement speaker. Took me all of a minute to replace the bad speaker (the longest part was the opening and reclosing of the phone). No special skills required and my phone now sounds like new. I think if my screen was to crack like Goat's I'd attempt to replace it too (I do have the skill set to do this) because there just isn't anything out there that grabs me like my beloved Incredible did, besides with the ROM I'm running now, it's just like a new phone.

Heya folks! Thanks for the sypmathy guys, been a rough couple of days with a phone that I can only answer calls with! Looks like I'll be switching to the wife's old Palme Pre Plus (yikes) for the time being. Where can I find a replacement screen for my Inc? And would it be an S-LCD or AMOLED? Not sure it's worth the hassle right now. VZW wants to rape me and charge me $100.00 WITH insurance to replace my beloved Inc. It would only cost me an additional $50 to get an Inc2. I know that it's not the biggest upgrade when moving from an Inc but the ffc and 4" screen are tempting. A locked bootloader isn't an issue for me, I don't want to get adicted to custom ROM's and whatnot like Skorp Argh I really hate that my screen cracked, I feel like I've lost a limb....

$40 for the screen is much better than the $100 VZW wants to rape you with, provided you have the skills to do your own replacement.

And I'm not addicted to custom ROMs .

*EDIT* They also carry the actual display (both types) AMOLED for $70 and SLCD for $95. If you do need to replace the display, make sure you get the same type as your current one.

It's not the outer screen it's the actual LCD panel. Sucks. I have the capabilities and the facilities to replace it, just not sure if it'll be worth it overall. Just considering my options

You can replace the screen, display, or both. If the screen is not cracked, I'd just do the display. Usually, the outer screen is the one that cracks and the display is fine. Your phone must have had a TERRIBLE accident to crack the actual diaplay.

Funny thing is I have no clue how or why it cracked. To me it looks like a pressure crack from the side. Such a PITA. I found a replacement AMOLED but it ships from china and I don't think I can wait it out.
