I've tried Juice Defender, myself. Seems decent. The only thing I dislike about it is that it seems to turn off data when the screen is off. Which, I guess makes sense, as data is probably what uses most of the battery. But I use Google Voice for texting (so I can text for free, without having to pay for it), and when data is off, I can't see if I've gotten any texts unless I wake up my phone.
From what I have seen around the net and heard from friends and family, pretty much all 4G phones blow when it comes to battery life--hence the existence of juice defender and these types of apps.
