Well apparently this is not great news any longer. Sadly enough the DX will not be getting Fission for GB. You can thank Motorola and their locked bootloader policy which in turn stopped this dev team from further development of this ROM. Thanks to Ang and the rest of Team Defuse for all of your hard work.

Cheers.

Team DeFuse

RIP Fission. You had a good run. We'll miss you.

Im new to the rooting game. I haven't installed a rom yet... im still trying to figure out why I should get a new rom. What are the advantages of this rom? Perks and stuff ya know...

It will be an AOSP (android open source project) ROM... meaning it will be compiled from probably a combination of CM7 and google's source code for android 2.3 (gingerbread). AOSP ROM's are not burdened by a service providers or phone developers own skins/software (Moto Blur, Samsung Touch Wiz, HTC Sense... etc) they put over google's stock gingerbread. I personally like small parts of blur, but have started growing fond of AOSP ROMs lately with the release of CM7.

In the meantime one of the closest ROM's that isn't full AOSP (because it still uses moto's build) but the closest we are getting to AOSP except CM7 is Apex 2.0. I am on Liberty 0.8 because it seems to like my phone and I get great battery life and keep all the parts of blur I like. Hope this all helps.

to install and then will release. Might be later tonight or tomorrow AM. Kind of burnt from today and need a break. Best way so far.

I may try it out later on. I just installed BWC on CM7, and am enjoying that at the moment :D:D:D

who is the dev to fission cause i will follow him lol

hey bo
here is something to ponder

since sammy has confirmed they arent producing the next nexus
do you think, and this is entire speculation
that moto has not merged the bionic with the targa
and the targa will infact be quad-core and be available during the holiday season, since i do believe the other nexus phones were released around similar times.
do you think the moto targa is in fact the next nexus phone and its just been quietly hidden for the time being....?
making us believe its merged with the bionic, when it could possibly not be...

The dev is Angdroid on Twitter.

As for the next Nexus device, Im glad Samsung is not making it. I really do hope that Moto is the next Nexus phone cos their hardware rocks. If so, it may very well be my next device.

That's some pretty good speculation there :p

I'm inclined to believe that it's possible that the Targa got scrapped because Moto may in fact be producing the next Nexus phone, and most likely will use a lot of the tech they were planning for the Targa on the next Nexus device. But only time will tell. If Moto makes it, that thing better be unlockable
