Help Screen protector needed?

I'm so fed up with these things. I know for a fact that I can't install them on my own, so I have Verizon AND BestBuy give it a go, and they still always leave dirt under it.

So I wanna know if there's ANY chance of the Gorilla Glass getting scratches. I mean even a LITTLE scratch, because I'm crazy about that stuff. Is it possible for sand or dirt or something to scratch the screen?

Please voice your opinions ASAP. I wanna throw this thing back in BestBuy's face.

i got a zagg shield and installed it myself. It came out very clean with no dirt.

Got the Zagg installed at Best Buy today & couldn't be happier. Are these things really that hard to put on? I paid the $7 to get it installed, but just for future reference for someone that has never put one on i'm just curious. Thanks in advance

Guess I'm the odd one out here. Neither my original nor replacement OG Droid has ever gotten even minor display scratches, despite being dropped on hard floors more times than I want to admit. Sure you can scratch or destroy anything, but Gorilla Glass has been functionally indestructible in my experience, so I won't use protectors.

not really. You just need a pretty steady hand. I found the Charge to be one of the easier phones to put a protector on.

I do NOT use a screen protector on my Charge. I've had my Charge since launch day, and it has zero scuffs and zero scratches. This phone DOES have Gorilla Glass. Some people with Gorilla Glass still feel the need to put screen protectors on it, even though the glass was designed to be scratch-proof (of course nothing is 100% scratch-proof).

Anyways, I LOVE not having a screen protector. It looks so sexy and is so responsive.

Funny, I put screen protectors on all my cell phones except the most recent Samsung devices. I have used the Epic 4G on Sprint and the Charge and never put a screen protector on them and have never had a scratch. For some reason they hold up well. On other phones I have had I have scratched the screens. So I don't trust them and protect them.

Just get a case that adds a bit of a lip to the front and go naked. Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand the feel of screen protectors, plus it's a crime to put one on this gorgeous screen. As long as you're not clumsy and have a dedicated phone pocket, you'll be fine. I had naked iPhones for 3.5 years and the only scratch came from when I had a friend hold my phone in her purse...won't be doing that anymore.

Though I do admit the backs of my iPhones looked HORRIBLE, which is why I immediately bought a case for my Charge. The Verizon case with the kickstand adds a nice lip to the front to keep the screen from touching any surfaces, so other than some freak accident, nothing but my fingertips will be touching it.

is it possible? Yes.

I just got the charge, and i dunno if the Super AMOLED + screen is weaker, but I have had an iphone 3gs, Droid X and Droid 2. 3gs and Dx used without screen protectors for over a year.

Zero scratches, nicks, etc. When I wipe the smudges away, the screen looks brand new.

I used to have one on my 3gs, and didn't notice any difference with or without in terms of scratches.

I think screen protectors are the biggest scam. The profit margins on these things must be absolutely ridiculous. They'd be making a huge profit @ $5, but they charge $15+?

Has anyone actually scratched their screen ? I mean, maybe if you carry the phone in a purse or with keys in your pocket.

Is this GG(gorilla glass) comes std with samsung droid charge? What abt Iphone? Or LG revolution?

This Corning Glass page supposedly has a full list and doesn't mention any of those phones. However, it's widely believed additional phones do have it. Some reviews mention the Charge as having GG even though Samsung's Charge page doesn't mention it anywhere.

I'm afraid definitive answers will be hard to come by!
