Root Rom Suggestions?

Hey All

Just wanted some opinions, been on Data 2 EXT MIUI for ages. Bored of it and hated less than 1 day battery life so went S-Off (didn't change partitions) tried SENSE 3.0 Port.D2EXT based on RCMix. It is so laggy!

I just want a fast Data 2 EXT (don't wanna go through re partitioning memory card again) with good battery life. I want to go to AOSP but there is no D2EXT option (not too interested in changing HBOOT because I want 1GB for my apps etc not just that little bit extra).

Any suggestions? Willing to flash a ROM and then apply D2EXT script afterwards (again unsure which one).

Thanks!

I used Leedroid for ages and fancied something new so I tried loads of the other roms including the data2sd ones. Like mentioined they are laggy and i have a class 6 card. To be honest, I think the sense 2.1/3.0 roms are probably too much for the desire to handle.

I did want more space for apps and data so in the end I went for Oxygen ROM and used the R2 partition layout which gives 333Mb internal as well as your A2SD partition space so it's a happy medium for the storage and the speed is good. Most importantly the batter life is as good if not better than the leedroid roms and they were good.

With the theme manager getting some good looks and some good widgets, it looks the business and performs very well.

[ROM][AOSP][Stock 2.3.4] F1 Gingerbread V3 [Multi Language|4 Builds|48MB][6 June] - xda-developers

I've been using this rom (F1 Gingerbread 2.3.4) for the last couple of days,
pretty decent battery life with setcpu working profiles for charging/screen off/ battery < 40 %
Skipped out on launcherpro and have been using GO launcher, pretty decent.
No lag at all, very nice set up, love the display features, give it a go

Its just Adam-G's Devnull Rom that some kid has run through the dsixda kitchen. If this is the rom you want, just get the proper one.

My Apologies

No need to apologise. You weren't to know. It just annoys me when a developer creates a Rom

Then a kid comes along, takes the developers Rom, runs it through a kitchen to add a few things, gets "recognized developer" status and takes donations for it.. yet still knows nothing about development. Dsixda kitchen is easy to use and anyone can do it. It's not fair to make profit from someone else's work like that

ASOP ROMs can also provide huge amount of space if you know how. For example, CM7 Light + Bravo Oxygen r2 + S2E + L2E = easily 200+ apps on your phone.
I've showed this in here: http://androidforums.com/desire-all...bining-scripts.html?highlight=combine+scripts
The advantage is that you have a very stable and fast ROM.

Hmmm seems like a lot of effort to free some space! how come Data 2 EXT doesn't work as it's faster than the NAND? Seems like a logical step?!

Might actually do this instead actually. Went back to MIUI D2EXT as Sense2.1 GB 2.3.3 with sense3.0 updates is i think stretching the capabilities too! Will have to repartition my memoty card again ang get rid of Swap partition and extra EXT partion then!
