I jumped into pool with my Fascinate to pull out my 2 year old when fell in. He is fine but my phone is not. Immediately pulled battery and put phone into bag of rice over night. Next day put phone into warm oven to finish drying. Phone will turn on and come up to the SAMSUNG screen but will not go any further. I can get phone into download mode and have reloaded the firmware, but still can not get passed the SAMSUNG screen.

I sent the phone to ifixyouri, but they were also not able to get phone to go past the SAMSUNG screen.

I am hoping someone has a recommendation of a service I could send phone to be repaired. Should I sent it to Samsung? The Verizon store I went to basically told me if the phone got we it is done for.....and basically said pick out a new phone to buy. I am stuborn, so I am not yet willing to give up on getting my phone fixed.

Anyone have any recommendations? Thank you, Kevin

Mine went in a lake this weekend, 7 feet down for over 2 hours! Recovered, removed battery, both battery and phone "wettness" tags remained white. Vacuumed out via earphone and usb ports, placed in a baggie of rice overnight, then placed in a bowl of rice in the sun all day. To my amazement, it booted right up and actually is performing better than before its swim! I had a Bogy Glove cover on in when it went in and have to believe that somehow helped.

Good luck!

Actually, if the tags are white then they are completely washed out.

That is, the tags now show that both items got wet. Dry tags from the factory have little red cross hatches all over them, the red washes off when they get wet.

To the OP: you can try immersing the phone in pure isopropanol or pure ethanol. You are trying to rinse off deposits from the water that are on the circuit board, or remove any residual moisture. Then leave it vertical for 20 minutes to drain out all the excess alcohol, then leave it open maybe with a fan blowing over it, 24 hours or so. The alcohol evaporates very quickly.
