Root Unrevoked3 is the BEST Root for Evo4G

So last night I was sitting around and finally made the decision to root my phone. I found Unrevoked3 and downloaded it. 5 minutes later I was rooted! It was so easy!! I was then able to download Titanium Backup with BusyBox in the Android Marker (free app) and remove all the crap stock apps like (Nascar, Blockbuster, Stocks) that Sprint so graciously throws in there for us.

I even downloaded free wi-fi tethering!!! I am now a very happy rooted Evo user who can actually use my phone for what I want to use it for NOT for what Sprint wants me to use it for!! If anyone with an Evo would like some help, feel free to drop me a line. I'll be more than happy to help! :)

I just did this today, it went great. For anyone on the fence, go for it (provided you've done your research - I've been looking into this for months). I also used Linux to do this, so I thought I'd give a little hint out to anyone doing it with Linux. 1. Enable Debug in settings. 2. Download/Extract the unrevoked file. 3. Enter this command from Terminal in the directory where unrevoke is extracted: sudo ./reflash *I think it's reflash, or just hit TAB after re and it'll auto fill. Pressing enter will launch unrevoked. 4. Plug in... from there you should be set. That's all I had to do. ^ Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but I didn't see any Linux guides or anything out there... and I didn't think my hints were quite worthy of a thread. But unrevoked is great. Simple, quick, and everything seems to be working fine. By the way... does anyone elses phone seem to take longer to boot now that you're rooted?

So I am on the 2.15.00.11.19 and it says it works with this radio so I installed the bootloader drivers and downloaded the reflash when I use the reflash tool it goes through the step resets the phone and says the failed to flash recovery image so its obviously having trouble rooting the phone any ideas?

Am i missing something on the root I read read read the unrevoked website did all the downloads but am not getting passed the failed do i need a downgrade?

what is your hboot? power off then press and hold power+vol down. this will get you to the hboot screen. it should say at the top of the screen. if it is hboot 2.16 then you need to use revolutionary. use this guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/395962-guide-rooting-gingerbread-revolutionary.html to root.
if your hboot is 2.10 or less then you need to use:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html

read them carefully in its entirety before rooting. and any questions please feel free to ask.
2.16 indeed. :(

More reading then. :s
Thank you. I really do appreciate the help.
