Help screen buttons not lit?

Hi,
Sorry if this is a repeat topic but I cant find the answer anywhere!

The one-touch buttons at the bottom of the screen (home, Menu, Back etc) on my desire s have never lit since I got it, ok I know where they are, but in dim light I would prefer that they were lit, does anyone know how to switch them on? I have messed with the phone for ages and find no reference to them!

Otherwise I love the phone!

Regards,
Ozalid

Haha, didnt realise it was a link!

Well the answer seems that there is no answer, if they are supposed to come on in low light conditions, mine dont.
Its not a big deal I guess.
Regards,

Have you tried?

All apps > Settings > Display > Brightness > check/uncheck Automatic brightness.

The sensor should activate the touch buttons under low light conditions.

Have you installed any screen protector? there were reports that the screen protectors affects the sensitivity of the sensors. you may try giving it a shot it might work. the sensor is just located near the 'htc' logo on its left. try playing with it by covering and see if the buttons will lit.
if not, better complain to your vendor.
