Overall feelings on your Inspire?

I'm guiding my girlfriend to buy an Android phone on ATT. I've been on Tmo for years with Android phones, but I do not know much about the ATT phones. I've had 2 Htc phones and been very satisfied with both. So I was immediately drawn to the Inspire on ATT for her. I know what Android can do and want a well made phone where pretty much everything is going to work when I set it up and show her how to use it. She is not very tech savvy.

So, all in all is the Inspire a good, reliable smartphone? Similar to a Nexus One or MyTouch 4g, from a reliability perspective?

i've had my Inspire since launch and i'm glad to say this is a very reliable phone. it does as advertised, it works very well in the smart and the phone department

i consider myself an average consumer that doesn't drool (much) over the next bleeding edge technology breakthrough, so my Inspire seems to handle my everyday tasks just fine (web browsing, social media, navigtion, phone stuff)

also HTC Sense will make it much easier for her to understand the basics of android and the simple user interface is very pleasing to the eye.

my only issues with this phone is the speakerphone could have been a bit louder, and battery life left me looking for an outlet in the middle of the work day.

I do occasionally drool over the newest technology, in my job I get to see, and play with, the newest phones to be released.

Im infatuated with my phone. Its the best thing ever. Its a phone, a texting machine, digital camera, handheld gaming system, GPS, handheld search engine. Anything I want to do, I can do. I think Im a HTC customer for a while.

The Inspire would be an excellent choice. I've also had mine since launch day and it's the best phone I've used. I bought an Atrix on launch day and returned it a week later. I bought an Infuse about a month ago, and returned it a week later. The Inspire is the best android option on AT&T, hands down, imo. I think your GF will love it. My GF owned an Aria for a while, so she was turned off by the Inspire's size. She picked up an Infuse, which I think is the second best option. I've owned the Inspire longer than any other phone (5 months lol), which is amazing because I always opt to pick up the new devices to check them out and I always end up keeping the better one. It says a lot that I've held onto this device this long. Go for it.

The inspire seems to be a great phone. Besides the speakerphone not being so hot (I solved this with bluetooth though so no biggie) and the battery life that I have learned to live with (suggestion would be to pick up a car charger and maybe a spare htc battery) I have bought 3 inspires. And each one works great and so does the gps (I came from the captivate and the gps was utterly useless on that). A lil upset that they came out with a red one after I bought my last inspire and i couldn't return it but also I decided to use an otterbox defender so again that didn't really matter. Overall a great phone.

I've had so many phones I have lost count. Every iPhone besides iPhone 4 and the celebrated HTC EVO. The Inspire is the best android phone out there in terms of performance/value. If you look hard enough you can find this phone for FREE. That is something you will not find in comparable phones at Verizon and T-Mobile.

you all seem so happy with the inspire, i might just get phone envy after she gets it. i'm sure tmo has the same phone under a different name, so it might be a good trial run to finally replace my n1. i love the n1, but would just like a bigger screen.

My brother has tmo and had the samsung gravity smart (just upgraded to it) I told him to get a real phone and talked him into the htc sensation (has 2.3 & a 1.2ghz processor) since it was the closest thing to my phone and he liked my inspire. He of course didn't want to pay $200 but i told him if you talk to the right people it won't be $200 he got it for $100 and $100 credit on his bill

I am on my 5th phone and 2nd battery.

My most common issues are:
-GPS is spotty at best. Most time it will not lock.
-Daily dead phone to where it takes a battery pull to get phone to power back up.
- System lock up i get a few minutes of please wait then phone acts like it just reset.
- about once a week my phone loses its sound settings.
- Now recently charging slot and headphone jack barley hold on to the cables.

All this in a span of a few months.

I honestly don't know if i want to swap it out again or go for a atrix or a infuse

I love it, no desire to switch to anything else. The only issue I could see someone having is battery life, but there are solutions to help manage this issue (turning off wi-fi when you are out and about, et al)

My wife has the same phone and she loves hers as well.

After coming from a Captivate I'd say that I'm very satisfied with the Inspire. Huge screen, works, and works.

This is definitely not the norm. Especially if you're on your 5th phone and experiencing the same symptoms.

Either (A) your story is bogus or (B) you're just having a bad string of luck.

I've had my Inspire since the day before release and never experienced any of these problems.

What is bad is on one of the exchanges. We check a few things, we even went on speaker phone with phone support( im in a device support center) and we end up having to swap the phone that i was just swapped out for.

GPS even in clear sky's nothing around no builds just a big open field im 1200 meters accuracy(yes gps is enabled) I stared to move and it lost signal. The other day gps would not work for a full day, had reset the phone by battery reset and still would not lock. The more i think about it im wanting to go IP4 with the big push for that is due to companies are leaving android phones in the dark with apps and going strictly iphone. Dont get me wrong i love the android system and i love the inspire design just this rash of issues is turning me away.

I really like my Inspire except I have the GPS issue and the volume rocker stics and if I don't notice it the screen stays on and drains the battery. I have no insurance on it so I was going to do the one year warranty exchange; unfortunately they give you a refurb phone so I am living with these two issues. Also not liking the outdoor viewing - basically can't see the screen outdoors at all (my wife's Iphone 4 is easy to read). With those items listed it is still a great phone for me.

This is my first smartphone, so I'm a bit biased and don't have anything to compare it to, but it's been three months since I got the Inspire. I have had no problems at all and absolutely no envy of any other options out there.

I had an iPhone 3gs and upgraded to HTC Inspire 4g. I got it for $50 from Sam's Club. Great phone so far. I had to swap mine because of the sideload update issue. Fixed that with temp root from XDA instead because the second phone still won't receive the update.

So far, I love the customization that I can do with the phone (without even rooting). I'm having a little hard time scanning the android market for good apps, I suppose because I'm not used to it yet. Also, some apps are way too expensive but I'm cheap.
Anyway, just go ahead and get her one. I also bought a TPU case (cross between hard plastic and silicon case: softer than hard plastic but does not have the texture of silicon case), 3x screen protector and car charger from ebay for $3.50; bought an extra Usb-micro usb charger/data cable from dealextreme.com for $2.xx. Buying extra chargers helps with the battery issue. I can't complain much coz I play with it alot. Battery will last if you don't play with it a lot but why have a nice phone if you just want to stick it in your pocket.

First off the Inspire is absolutely the greatest phone I have ever had. For a person not so tech savvy I'd get it set up for her for sure. It's a true superphone in that it goes 100 directions seamlessly and its lightening fast but not too much at the same time. I'd try your best to use the signal everywhere she will be. I'm on my second HTC Inspire and its not having the call dropping problem yet but I haven't took it to work. As far as the rest I'm actually loving this phone... everything about it.

I think it's the best Android on AT&T for the time being.

Great camera, nice screen and fast performance.

I'm on it a lot and don't have any battery issues with it. I sometimes think we expect too much from a battery standpoint and I find this phone every bit as good as any Android I have used.

I am not 100% sold on it. I am on my 2nd one and it screws up a lot. Also, when sending group texts, it puts the replies in separate threads which the Iphone does not nor does Blackberry. It comes in like one conversation.

I feel the same right now I have both the Atrix and the Inspire. The Atrix has a good battery life but the user interface on the Inspire is so much better! My only other gripe about the Inspire is when outside it is very hard to see the screen for pictures and reading stuff. I would go with the inspire and get an extra battery.

I freakin love my Inspire. Considering how awesome it is, I'm surprised that we dont see more advertising or buzz about it from ATT. I never hear/see any radio /tv adds. *shrugs*

All I hear from ATT is them trying to push out the rest of their 3GS phones for 50 bucks a piece, claiming its the "hottest" phone on the market today. They must laugh every time someone signs up for that.

Bought the Inspire 4G at launch and it has been great so far. I really like the 4.3" screen although at first I didnt think I would.
I came over to AT&T from Verizon and a Droid Incredible, so that is what I am comparing the Inspire to.
