Is there an app to backup/save app placement on the 7 screens?

I've searched and cannot find anything like this. I use app backups like exuninstall and Astro. But it would be nice to be able to just load my screens back to the way I had them instead of trying to remember in case I need to reset my phone. Thx in advance.

I don't know of any apps that will do this. I use ADW Launcer (free) and it has settings to backup both your home screen lay outs and launcher settings. It works really well, as I've had to use it in the past. The only thing it can't back up are widgets, but it does remember the space for them.

The only way to save that is to root and do a nandroid backup

What kind of phone do you have? If it is an HTC phone, MyBackup Pro will backup the home screens. I will save the Sense and stock Android home screens.

As another poster said, 3rd party home screens usually have a backup function (minus backing up widgets). I use Launcher Pro and it has an option to backup your shortcut and home screen settings to the SD card.

You could also go a manual route, before I started using Launcher Pro, I used Samsung's TouchWiz home screen. Nothing would back that up, so I created a Google Spreadsheet and used it to keep up with what short cuts I had on which screen.... Actually I still use that as a backup to my backup ;-)

I use GO Launcher. You hit backup and next time something gets messed up you just hit restore. All goes back as it was. It saves it at root of the sd, so you can change the name and back up the backups by date in a new folder.

Funny you mentioned that. I took screen shots of each of my home screens, as a back up to my back up. I have the pictures stored in internal memory.

I use an app called ShootMe. You have to be rooted for it work.

MyBackup (and Pro) will be able to backup and restore the default Android Home screen, as well as the HTC sense UI (all 7 screens)

If you have an EVO try this:
from your home screen hit Menu -> Settings -> Personalize -> Scenes.
That will take you to a list of possible scene choices. at the top it will say Current (unsaved) and have a green indicator lit. hit Menu ->save and give it a name.
I dont know if other phones work that way.

No, that's not what the OP wanted. He wanted a way to back them up, not just save them. Your method wont save them when he resets the phone.
