Bump charging is not good for the battery. The phone does the best job handling the charge to maintain the life of the battery.
Oh really? I didnt know that. Thanks for letting me know. You make a good point too.

plus i have found that bump charging on this phone does not actually work.
It worked on my DINC, which is why I asked :)

I have not found it necessary to "bump charge" since switching to the INC2. The charge does not immediately drop 10% when taken off the charger like the original INC, plus battery life is generally much better in my experience.

It depends on when you take it off the charger. If you leave it on the charger after charging is complete, the phone runs on battery down to about 90%, then charges a little, then battery, charges a little.......

So unless you take it off the charger right after charging completes, you are going to get that quick drop to 90% (since that's where it actually was when you took it off the charger, but your phone lies and shows 100%).

I charge my INC2 overnight and take it off in the morning. It seems to hold a 98% charge for awhile unless I start using it right away for downloading/updating apps, reading emails and ebooks etc. This morning for example after about an hour of use, it was at 89%. I will watch it a little more closely, but have not noticed the immediate drop off that I did with the original INC

This is what I was worried about. I guess I'm overthinking this. After that initial 10%, the battery was "stable" on my DINC.

As I said previously, how fast it drops to 90% depends on where in the charging cycle it was when you removed it from the charger.

Bottom line is that the last 90% will last you 12-24+ hours depending on use. That should be sufficient for almost everyone, and therefore bump charging is not needed.

My experience with this phone would say this is completely true. I always just charge overnight and some days I am almost immediately down to 90% and others I hover above 90% for awhile. This would explain that.
