Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I searched this forum to find any other previous threads that talks about my problem with my LG Optimus V phone. :(

None of those threads really helped with my situation so I guess I'll write down my own.

I rooted my phone weeks ago..No problems at all until last night. At night time, my phone shut down on its own and I thought the battery died. I pressed the power button and it turned on, went to the home screen. I noticed that the time went 1 hour behind and the date went back to January 7, 1980.. I was confused and I couldn't find some apps I already installed on my phone like Skype..So, I decided to do a Factory Reset by going to Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset. It went to the LG Logo..and then a "ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2.0.0" screen appeared..It has options of:

-reboot system now
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-power off

I pressed on "reboot system now" and it just takes me BACK to that same screen! I pressed "power off" and it turned off..but when I turned it back on again, it took me to that same screen again. I decided to remove the battery, and power it back on..but nope..same screen.

So I went to this forum and searched for people who had this similar problem.

I found this:

Nandroid Instructions:
1) Extract the "BCDS-20110203-0357" file into the "nandroid" folder, under the "mem=477M" subfolder.
1a) For Clockwork Recovery, place the "BCDS-20110203-0357" file in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
2) Boot into recovery
3) Go into the "Backup/Restore" menu, and select "Nand Restore"
4) Allow it to restore
5) Reboot! System should be stock
6) Go below and flash stock recovery

Recovery Instructions:
1) Download flash_image and the stock recovery and nandroid back up
2) Extract stock recovery.img and flash_image to the root of your sdcard
3) Open up an adb shell, or terminal emulator on your phone
4) Enter the following codes:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system
cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image
chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
reboot recovery

_______________________________________________

I don't have a nandroid folder..nor a mem=477M folder either..
I tried this and it fails. CMD keeps giving me errors and stuff and my phone still hasn't gone out of that annoying ClockworkMod Recovery Screen..I just want my phone back to factory settings like how it used to be when I first bought it. Any help is appreciated. Sorry for this being so long, but I think that the more information/details given, the more chance I can get help. Thanks again. :(

my lg optimus v is stuck in "ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7" and it won't let me select an option.
My volume down button curses up and my volume up button does nothing.
My camera button curses through all selections and my home button does nothing. My power button makes it go to just a image of the little hat over an orange circle but does not turn off my phone. i've tried this...

http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...guide-unbrick-upgrade-optimus-v-easy-kdz.html

but it didn't work. So in short i can't do most of the fixes I've found because i can't select any of the options. what do i do??? help!

If You are rooted then we just need to get the proper recovery on your phone thru a command line interface from your computer.

First you will need the USB Drivers for your phone. Make sure your phone is not plugged into the computer Click on this link: http://www.lg-phones.org/wp-content/uploads/LG-Optimus-V.zip when the drivers have finished with the initial install reboot the computer to alllow the other two drivers to be installed. Once computer boots up, plug phone into computer to finish the install.

Next you will need the Android SDK downloaded onto the root of your C: drive (or which ever is your hard drive). Then you need to get the adb.exe found in the platform-tools folder of that SDK folder into your computers path. The best way to do this is to follow this tutorial: New pre-packaged ADB installation

Then you need the Touchscreen recovery found here: [RECOVERY] CWMT Recovery 5.0.2.7-th7 (T is for TOUCH!) OV - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com or the BobZohme recovery found here: Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire make sure the recovery is unzipped (it will have a .img on the end instead of a .zip)

Note: The Touchscreen recovery has virtual keys on the screen , as well as the hard keys.

Then you need to get the Xionia recovery in a zipped form from here (this is just in case the first doesn't fix the problem). It can be found here: [FIX]Black screen with custom recovery and custom roms - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com look at the bottom of the first post for a link to the Xionia recovery in it's zipped form (leave this one zipped)

Put both recovery's on the SD card and rename the first Recovery to just recovery.img

Once everything is set up then plug your phone into the computer get a command prompt up on the screen and type in this:
cd..
cd..
cd SDK/platform-tools
adb shell (you should now get a #, if not type in su, you should now get a #)
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /system /system
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovry.img (if you got no errors then proceed)
reboot recovery

Note 2: Hit the enter key at the end of each line of the code.

If you can't seem to get out of the recovery screen no matter what you do then go to "Do Not Factory Reset Your Rooted Phone" sticky for instructions on how to use the Zipped Recovery to get things straightened out.
