so i swear the thunderbolt is the worse phone ive ever had (and ive had ALOT of phones), ive been through 6 so far on number 7 and about to wind up with another one. first was bad out of box it lasted 15 days till they finally said hey we will replace it second was bad sim reader third was bad battery terminals and next 3 were dim flickering screens that went out now this one is the biggest POS ever. Ok so lets start off this way NO I AM NOT ROOTING MY PHONE IF I ROOT IT I CANNOT GET IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY..and yes i know of ppl who have gotten screwed like that.. ok now that that is out of the way. So my phone is ungodly slow. Ive tried anything from battery pulls to advanced task killer.... this thing just sucks hell on advanced task killer half the programs pop right back up.

When in text messaging its so slow its rediculous sometimes waiting 5 mins for a text to open. Like right now i have 3 text convos all with less than 100 messages and it keeps force closing. My phone runs normally what it would run like if it was plugged in ... Sluggish n horrible when its off the charger now you put it on the charger you cant even use it. Whenever i click on one conversation it pops me to another over and over and over again.... It makes me wonder why i bought this phone in the first place.... my original droid ran better than this thing does.

Starting to think that people that dont even have the phone just come on here and make up problems with the phone. I smell an Iphone user.

That's funny. I was kinda thinking the same thing.... Not saying it's true, but it DOES seem strange that 6-7 phones ALL have problems. I'm still on the phone I got on rollout day and it works great, and I have TONS of apps installed and have DAS BAMF GB ROM with Sense 3, RC5 installed.

Not only are you using ATK (-.-) but I imagine you abuse your phone. Your statistical probability of having 6-7 lemon phones begs the question of how you treat them, what you install, and whether you're just trolling

Agreed. The probability of the poster telling the truth is at least an order of magnitude less than the probability of actually getting 7 defective Thunderbolts in a row.

I believe the OP is a troll.

With that said. I have dealt with a customer of our company that managed to jack up 5 of our premium devices. 3 were his fault (thinks he's a computer guy) and the last 2 had something to do with software installed on his computer. The software would add security files to our device as soon as he plugged it in. Totally jacked up our device.

We ended up firing this customer by refunding all of his money and letting him know he is no longer welcome to purchase our products. If he does he will receive no support.

Sorry guys, gonna have to side with the OP, I'm on my eighth one and only had it 2-2.5 months. My phone worked flawlessly for 5 days till I got the first update. Constant rebooting, slow speed, loses connectivity, CONSTANT REBOOTING...they told me they could give me a new phone every day before letting me change to a new phone, should've done it in the first 15 days. So up until this past Saturday, every time I pass my store, which is about once a week, I've had them replace it. They won't acknowledge a problem with the phone, just keep giving me a new one...HOWEVER, since last Saturdays update I haven't had a problem with the phone...not one reboot or notion of lag.

Don't give the guy grief, I've experienced it too.

Just because the OP doesn't have any rep here doesn't mean that he/she is an iPhone user who just likes to stir the waters.

Troll yes, first post here on af was 4/19 complaining about phone # 2, then 2 posts today both saying the same thing. But what is wrong with being a troll, I have trolled XDA for ages, part because I like this community much better and part because I don't feel like getting flamed over there like every other post (which appears to be spilling over to here as well).

To the OP: any task killer is pointless on android. The OS is built to kill tasks as needed, a task killer just wastes battery. I would recommend you do a factory reset, the hardware on your phone sounds stable it sounds like something. After the reset I would recommend installing apps one at a time as you need them, you may have a rogue app that is hogging system resources and bogging the phone down. If there are apps you do not use by only downloading apps as you need them it should eliminate all the apps you don't actually use.

I don't understand why people always say task managers are pointless, then why do some of the newer custom GB Roms have them installed.

I don't use them even though they are preinstalled

It depends on the task manager. If it is a task killer like ATK it runs and kills tasks on it's own, these killed tasks may or may not just revive and use more system resources than they would have if just left alone.

Others are basically just a link to manage applications where you can choose to kill a certian app, again it may or may not revive itself but the task kill is not using system resources at all times monitoring the running apps only when you call upon it it also does not choose which apps to kill but allows the user to choose.

I would never recommend someone use one of the first type. They do more harm than good. If someone feels they must have control to kill apps at will then I would recommend they use one of the second type. Go launcher ex has a built in task killer that functions like the second type.

Hope that helps.

yeah it makes sense. I would probably use a task killer, if I didnt reboot a couple times a day depending on usage.
which I think most users need to do more often.

and for the occasional app malfunction. but then I just go into manage applications and FC and or clear cache

Same here. I try to reboot at least daily. If I have a rogue app I will use manage applications or find something that functions the same and uninstall the malfunctioning app. I try to avoid using GO just because of the built in task manager I find myself going OCD and killing apps.
