Hello.. now i'm new to this forum and i am really getting frustrated and hope someone else here can help give me some info i'll be as technical as i can so people are not scratching their heads.

Model of phone: Samsung Galaxy Appollo GT-5801 (2.2 fryo)
Application Problem: Samsung Kies (latest version)

----------------------

I have used PC studio for older phones for years i loved it then
i tried pc studio with my new android no go v3.1 doesn't support it.
so i download the new pc studio from samsung same thing says un-registered un-reconised phone but does show the 1.83gb memory card.
and i can access that just not anything on the phone. i.e. phone book
so i guess pc studio any version doesn't work with this phone.

So i try Samsung Kies and i have got to say i have never seen
such a useless piece of badly programmed software in my life!

First i want to ADD a video/music file to my phone so i click ADD file
then it transfers it to my phone!! great but this useless peice of software does not have an option that i can see or find that actually allows you to say where on the phone it saves the media too by default???

so i tried adding a video file using the sync option no problem transfering it to my phone but once it's transferred i cannot find the file for love no money. samsung kies show's its there it plays/deletes and transfers back to the PC but it does not STATE or show exactly where its put the file.

am i missing something when you add a file or sync a folder/file to the phone where does it put the files lol and why does it not have an option to actually say hey i want to save the file i'm adding to this directory on my phone.

i've watched the video tutorials on kies but it just shows clicking buttons about add file here snyc file does not state how you or where you change the default location where the files actually gets put when snyc'd or when you add a file.

Maybe i'm missing something but no where can i see or find any option to say something like.

Default Path/Folder you want the files your ADDing or SYNC'd to go to on the phone.

from what i can find on this topic and subject all snyc files goes to DCIM folder but i dont get how or why? or even where to change this sucka's location lol

PC studio's have always had a destination folder/option but this new kies from as far as i can tell does not.

please help?

The DCIM folder really should only be the location of photos and videos you take with your default camera app. As to the rest of it, I've only explored kies briefly (and it was an "unofficial version" since in the US we only get Kies mini).

You might want to touch base with other Appollo users in Samsung Galaxy Apollo (3) - Android Forums and see what they are using.

I've given Kies a cursory look and decided to avoid it at all costs. It really is taking a simple process and complicating it much more than necessary.

If you want an all-encompassing sync program you might try My Phone Explorer but for simple file copies, I just connect in storage mode.

+1. I had problems with HTC Sync (possibly fixed now, but too late) and started to use MyPhoneExplorer, and now use it to sync contacts and calendar from Outlook and music from my PC.
