Can someone please tell me of your phone does this while charging .... Ok so when I power my phone off to charge I plug it into the charger and the red charging notification light come on but than in like 5 seconds the red light turns off for a second or two than it comes back on and stays red till the phone is completely charged in which case it turns green as it should. It does this regardless of how much battery I have left when charging. I always get 100 percent charge but am worried since the light blinks out for a second if I have a bad phone, charger or USB port. I hope someone can plug there phone and tell me if your phone does this. Testing it as we speak it always does this.... Plug in to charger phone led turns red after a few seconds the light turns off and goes back on in a few seconds and stays on normally from there. The red light only turns off and on in the beginning and doesn't continuously flicker or turn on and off. I only have a few days left on my 30 days to exchange so if someone can test this I would really apreciate it. Thanks

Those few seconds are when the phone is actually off.

Then the charging circuit wakes up. If you think about it makes sense - the phone turned off, off is off, then the charging part has turned on, so the light comes on.

It's correct for it to work that way.

Many phones are wired this way, many are not.

My roomates evo 3d doesn't act the same. When she plugs hers in her phone ( when powered off ) LED red light takes a few seconds to initially turn on and turn red after that her light does not go off and on .... also just checked my old Hero and it doessnt do what I described above as well. Not sure if I explained it right. So I will try once more ( sorry if I am confusing anyone )

1. I power my phone off completely
2. I plug my charger in
3. After a few seconds the charging red LED light comes on
4. In another few seconds the red LED light shuts back off but than the red light comes ight back on in like two seconds
5. Charging light stays red till fully charged

So I am assuming you meant that the initial delay for the red charging light to come on when first plugging it in is normal, but mine takes a second or two to register the LED ( normal as you described ) but than it ( the red light ) turns off and back on again in a few seconds.

I asked my friend who also has a Sprint HTC Hero and his does the same thing. I just checked my wife's shiny new Sprint HTC EVO 4G and it does the same thing.

It also does this if you plug it in while it is off, and then power it up. It will show the charging LED, you press power, the LED will go off, and then will come back on at some point during the booting process. I am pretty sure it is because it is doing some initial self check while charging. It is normal and I would not worry about it at all.
