Is Android still a safe investment? (Apple lawsuit)

It is typical Apple marketing bull$hit. These suits usually rear their ugly heads right before the release of a new iPhone to keep people like you on the fence long enough to get the model out in the stores. Apple is trying to scare people away from Android, just like they tried to do to PC's with their obnoxious "I'm a Mac" campaign.

What I don't get is why in the face of Apple's phenomenal success do they still insist on acting like a-holes?

I thought their I'm a Mac commercials were downright funny actually. They picked the perfect guy to be a PC... oddly enough it didn't sway me one bit, though I'm sure people buying for their first time bought into the hype.

Ignore the news entirely, because who's winning depends on which web site you read. Visit your carriers local store, or a Best Buy, etc. and pick up an iPhone, pick up an Android... drop them both from waist high and make a decision. :)

I wouldn't worry about it. Even if everything goes against Google and everything goes in favor of Apple, Android phones will continue to be sold this year and probably next year as well. Then they'll go away, but they'll still be supported. Even if Apple shuts Android down completely with this lawsuit (which is extremely unlikely), you'll have support for an entire two year contract easily.

I definitely agree with this. It's a crappy tactic if you ask me.

this is silly its all about patent infringments that stupid, and plus couldnt android or google sue apply for their newest version of os for the iphone because if you watch some of the demonstration videos about it, apple has added a drop down menu from the top of screen, the have pretty much added the same thing in their newest update that comes out soon I believe.

And that is the only reason, in my opinion, that this junk is being made as public as it is.

And people wonder why I chose Android.

I don't necessarily disagree with any of that, but Apple is hardly the only company doing this kind of crap. If you're going to hate Apple for being patent trolling a-holes (which is well deserved IMO), then you have to hate a buttload of other tech companies for doing the exact same thing.

Never said I didn't. Personally I think all software process patents are ridiculous and should have never been granted in the first place.

I am thinking of applying for a patent to cross an asphalt paved surface in sneakers by extending one leg until it touches the ground, shifting weight and balance to that leg while lifting the remaining leg and extending it past the supporting leg. Anybody on board with a group forum patent application?

Sweet idea.
I've been thinking about applying for a patent for exhaling/inhaling a mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and argon through the large, sponge-like organs residing behind the curved, structural devices made up of calcium, phosphorus and sodium among other minerals.
Still no luck though, but keeping my hopes up!

Won't work. I patented the same thing at a rapid pace as a faster means of transportation.

Have your lawyers call my lawyers ... they can set up a meeting. I prefer an abandoned warehouse in New Jersey for all my important meetings.

No problem. I've got two lawyers working on this. One is named Gorilla and the other is named Tiny. I just mentioned to Tiny that you think the Giants suck. I have no clue if that's true or not, nor do I care. He disagrees with you and looks forward to discussing your differences in person.

I've been waiting for over an hour and still no Gorilla or Tiny. I was questioned by the police a few minutes ago about an abandoned 1984 Lincoln parked behind the dumpsters with a half eaten Cannoli and a bloody Giants jacket in the back seat. I sure hope they didn't get lost. It would be very easy to have an accident in the dark around here.
