Advanced task killer

How do you used the advanced task killer? After you call it up what do you do next?

You hit the big button and it ends the prosesses that have a check by them.

you long press on the apps and it gives you options I.E. ignore list.

It stops them from running at that moment, so I guess you could say that's affecting them. It does not uninstall the apps. All task killers are for is to kill an app so it doesn't run in the background. It will come back when it needs to though.

- Alarm Clock (trust me, woke up late for work one morning)
- Corporate Calendar (If you sync your calendar with an Exchange Server)
- Email (no matter what type of e-mail system you use ... Exchange, POP, etc). If you stop this, mail stops downloading

I love ATK, it's the best. Keep my Droid running snappy and smooth.

It is best to add those and messages to your "ignore" list. That way they stay running and do not show up on the main kill list.
Items you never use and can not uninstall @(for me GTalk) you add to "autoKill" list. That way they are killed as soon as they open.
All setting can be changed anytime.

After I use a task and it shows up with a check mark should I delete the check mark to let the program run? I used the Killer and after that I stopped getting my emails. Does the check mark mean delete it? Uncheck it and does it let it through? Is it permanent>

No, it is NOT permanent. The app is called "Task Killer" ... not "App Uninstaller".

There are MANY that say you don't need a task killer with the Android O/S. I say "whatever". It can't hurt. I kill all tasks (except for those in my ignore list) at least once every 30 minutes. Yea, I'm EXTREMELY OCD that way!

What's in my ignore list?
- Startup Auditor
- Messaging
- Handcent Sms

If I sync'ed to an Exchange server, I would ignore the calendar and email apps as well, but I don't. I do kill K-9 Mail though. It just restarts when it needs to, no big deal.

I love my Advanced Task Killer. Don't let anyone talk you out of using it if you want to. I understand why some don't think you need it ... good for them. I just know that my DROID runs much snappier after I kill some (all?) apps.

When you unlock your phone.. how did you add that copy of the HTC droid? The clock/weather type widget. Whats the name of it/How do I do it?

I asked this a few days ago but didn't get too much of a reply. I'm using Advanced Task Killer, and the only things I keep on Ignore are:

-Handcent SMS
-Power Manager
-Weather Widgets
-Battery Status Free
-Gmail

Everything else I pretty much kill. Now I've noticed that when I kill and go back in to check the available memory, sometimes apps are in there again, even if I haven't launched anything. Is this normal??

Yes that is normal. They waken but are not running. Kill them and they go back to sleep.

That is why some people say that task killer is useless (I do use it). If you want to see what is actually running, go to setting-applications-running aplications.
