Still working on a 2.2.1 version.

So, I'm using the 2.2 version. Would there be any advantage for me to switch over to the 2.2.1 version when you get it up and running? Would there be a disadvantage for me to go away from 2.2?

They will be pretty much the same it's just that if your phone came stock with 2.2.1 you can't flash down to 2.2 roms but if you have 2.2 you can flash up. There would be no benefit for you to use it. I'm just making it so people with newer phones have another option.

Did you mean 2.2.1? The 2.2 version is the first one Solid did, and had even had an update.

OP has been updated to include 2.2.1 version. Everything is the same as 2.2 version. Overclocking enabled thanks to Reppard's r.O.C.K. kernel. If anyone would like to give it a try and give me some feedback it would be greatly appreciated. As previously stated this is my first attempt at a custom rom and I have never upgraded to 2.2.1. This rom boots up and works for me so I'm hoping it will work for anyone with stock/upgraded 2.2.1.

I tried it. Its very smooth. Battery life is also very good. Everything is pretty much working. Including games and whatnot. Very happy you included Titanium Root. Then I don't have to download it from the market so that was pretty convenient. Alltogether great ROM and I will definitely be using it until Cyanogen gets out of beta. Not to mention it LOOKS amazing.

Did you do an all user data wipe in recovery? Also what browser did you download it with? Its best to download with internet explorer. Others mess with the files.

Stop propagating this myth. If Firefox or Chrome screwed up files while they downloaded them it would be the biggest bug they have had and it would be worked on night and day until resolved.

I have not used IE to download one single ROM, I have however used Opera, Firefox and Chrome with no problem.

Stop saying IE is the only browser that can freaking download. That is ****ing insanity.

Yup, having the freezing at android screen too. My phone had an error clearing ext3. I repartitioned, wiped everything, still has an error wiping ext3.

Is this a problem with the old recovery? I don't think i've tried to wipe ext3 since I installed it. Maybe I'll install the newer recovery later and see how that goes...

I, too, have had no problem downloading a ROM with Firefox. I use my work laptop (Lenovo T410 (I work for IBM and they require FF to be default browser since they are trying to get away from MS)) and have downloaded both of A-Plus' 2.2 ROMS now (the original and the 1.1 version).

The problems I had, originally, with flashing the ROM stemmed from me not doing a complete wipe all data. Once I did that, it installed just fine. When I hadn't done a complete wipe all, mine phone was stalling on the Android splash screen. It'd get past the LG screen, and then sit on the Android screen for a little bit, with the scrolling back and forth light, for a couple of minutes. Then it'd freeze. Once I wiped all it loaded just fine.

wiped card with gparted, partitioned in recovery and converted to ext3, flashed sense rom and bootloop.

What a pain in my ass. Guess I gotta boot into gparted again and format the card to fat32 and see if I can get any rom to install properly with no ext3.

Were you formatting the SD card while it was out of the phone? I've never used Gparted before (although I do know it's a part of Gnome on Linux). When I did my SD card, it was in the phone and I did it from the recovery menus. I don't know if that really is a factor, but something to think about.

Personally I would recommend using the newer recovery. I never used joniedy's as I am on 2.2 but it is based on the older recovery which did give me problems. If you're having trouble I would try flashing the latest recovery and re-downloading the rom.

No. Some people have had issues with downloads and wrongly attributed them to the browser. The people making these roms are running Linux. If Firefox messed up a rom file I think they would never get off the ground. I guarantee the developers don't boot to windows to download roms with IE...

Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE, they all download the same file. Go download the cm7 rom, it has a checksum. Download it in every browser, run the resulting files checksums.

A poor internet connection could cause any browser to mess up a download, IE included. A download manager will fix this in any case. No need to change browsers.

Were you formatting the SD card while it was out of the phone? I've never used Gparted before (although I do know it's a part of Gnome on Linux). When I did my SD card, it was in the phone and I did it from the recovery menus. I don't know if that really is a factor, but something to think about.

I had to format it with gparted out of the phone to get rid of the ext3 partition, it was messed up and nothing else would recognize it.

I have sense rom running now with no ext3. I'm going to partition it with recovery and try again.

It froze again. I still get the error trying to wipe ext3. I'm thinking this issue has to do with the older recovery menu as it won't properly wipe all.

I'll get around to installing the new recovery and report back at some point tonight.

Is this using an older OC kernel with a higher than 728 stock speed? Thats the only thing I can think of since this phone wont run the higher clocks and it froze in the same place running reppards first couple oc kernels.

I don't know what else I could be doing wrong. I guess I'll run gparted on the card again to start from scratch with the ext3 partition made with the new recovery. Changing the recovery did however fix the error wiping the ext3 part.

Edit: That didn't work either. I'm out of ideas.

Yeah, I used to get wipe, mount, and nand backup problems with the old recovery. None of which I've experienced with the newer version not to mention the scrollable file directory. On the topic of the kernel, I'm using the latest anyrom r.O.C.K. kernel. I'm not versed in creating custom kernels but I believe this is the same one in the sense rom so if you can boot that rom then possibly it is a corrupted download.
