Can't list the differences, but aosp is synced from source as late as end of May, while zefie's last one is older, so aosp has more features such as individual permissions revoking, status bar brightness slider, and a couple others. I don't think MMS works on zefie's.
I just built CyanogenMod for the Optimus V from Blarfie's inhumanorgans repository. Got a couple of bugs to work out, and a few details to iron out with KermikalElite, then we will be posting a new CM7 port for the Optimus V.
I can't wait to try it. I tested Ath3nos, but had bad battery life and went back to Harmonia. It may been an app. I'm going try a fresh install and load apps a few at a time and try again.
ath3nos is built for the Optimus S (obviously), while the inferiorhumanorgans repository also has the necessary info to build for the Optimus V, it's just that no one had built it for the V from scratch, instead they used the S stuff with a crossover script.
The builds for the Optimus V should be more stable than crossover scripting.
I put the AOSP CM7 on my OV two days ago, and discovered to my great surprise that after a day of reasonably constant moderate useage including a lot of camera work, that I still had 55% battery left at 11:30 PM, having unplugged it at 7am.

If you think that's good, you ain't seen nothing, till you try the new CM7 port called the BACKside ROM. Plus there constantly improving it on a daily basis. The only things that don't work are the bluetooth, and usb mass storage option in the setting menu(I can handle putting my SD card in the computer to read and transfer files). I'm sure these bug will be fixed before you know it. I did some benchmark testing and stability testing and the best CPU speed for this ROM was 787Hz-480Hz. During the course of all this heavy testing and demanding stability testing the battery temp never exceeded 28C...The screen never seemed to get hot(it was luke warm at worst),even after watching an entire episode of the original Star Trek series. Angry Birds was super smooth and fast, which means most gamers should appreciate it as well. I have a total of 107 installed apps(preinstalled and downloaded). The ROM started with 178.88MB of app memory and I am currently only down to 149.49Mb. I've been working this phone to death in the last 4 hours with no lettup. 7 hours total off charge and I still have 64% battery.. Talk about Yowza, well this ROM just took Yowza to the the nth degree.
