MY TRIUMPH-

Issues are as follows:
-NO GPS AT ALL
-multiple USB recognition
-Low Signal (all phones have full bars in my house, except thy Triumph)
-ear speaker sounds very cheap and tinny, could be a bad speaker???
-No Hotspot, this is just not on it which annoys me, but it isnt within VM rules anyway

Works perfect:
-Camera
-Data 3G locks in pretty decently, avg 756k down
-FLash works flawless, Games too
-calls do sound clear aside from the speaker quality
-BT audio and phone works flawless

So I think I need to figure out if mine is a Lemon/Faulty or is this just a badly made phone?? What do you all think?

Exchange it for another and find out :) The GPS works on mine...just maybe not so well as of yesterday. Call clarity is fine. Signal is lower, I would say - but then the visual only shows four bars, not 5 like the V, so I can't be certain until I start comparing the V.

Seems like it really varies from phone to phone.
I haven't tried tethering and I'm not rooted so I can't speak for that but I will agree with everyone else that service doesn't seem to be as good. I have 1x in areas I used to have 3g according to the status bar thing but it seems only general data is faster on this phone than the intercept so no real complaints. Other than that, just the speaker quality that you play music out of.. not the ear part... it's not all that great at higher volume but I'll live lol

We knew that since last week, the MT is getting 5-7dBm lower signal strength v. an OV in the same location so you must've already had very marginal signal quality and the MT is just exacerbating that. It's really, to me, the weakest point of the MT but everywhere I go I get about the same number of "bars"(a poor metric BTW dB is better...) and my data rates and latency on 3G are just as craptacular as with the OV although it does connect mobile data MUCH more quickly than the OV did and seems more stable.

i.e. so if you used to get(using "bars") more 2 or more and you get none w/the MT you might've gotten one with a genuine antenna problem v. crappy design. e.g. in my backyard I got pretty much solid 2 bar w/OV but get 1-2 fluctuating w/MT or in dBm terms if it's -100 or lower dBm on OV, etc. the MT is just not going to hack it likely... It's just a design flaw, but it hasn't really negatively impacted me yet.

Add phone reboot when using GPS (has happened twice to me), and phone reboot when running NetFlix (has happened twice).

I suspect the latter is a NetFlix player compatibility issue. As to the former, the phone shouldn't be rebooting when searching for GPS satellites.

The suspected GPS issues with this phone is the main reasons i am holding out.buying this phone,

I'm more inclined to believe that you have a defective phone, as mine hasn't rebooted when searching for GPS sats.

As to the supposed GPS problem, so many of us just don't have it that I suspect that those who do are either (a) using some app that interferes with it or (b) just have a defective phone...

PRO - Youtube is the biggest selling point here because I can watch videos without waiting forever for the slow, and grainy Intercept screen! :D Same goes for games that never worked.

CON - Connecting to wireless. It takes 5 seconds for my Intercept to connect to wifi through toggling on the 'power control' widget.

For my Triumph, it doesn't even connect through the 'power control' widget. When I go to 'Wireless & network settings', it says that my network is not in range, when it clearly is. I have to go into 'Wi-Fi settings', turn it off, turn it back on, watch it rescan, obtain IP address, then it FINALLY connects. It's inconvenient having to do that every time I want to connect to wireless.

FYI - I have a MAC address filtered router.

Anyone else have this problem?

As more radio complaints are reported i am inclined to believe there is a radio issue with this phone, any smartphone is only as good as it's radios.i can tolerate lag and slow response from a mobile device but radio issue should not be something you should pass of as a bug, maybe through the creation of custom Roms can improve on signal issues so maybe not all is lost.

GPS works fine for me. Took a while to connect at first, but now finds me within a couple seconds. My only beef with the phone is the voice and speaker volume when making a call. I have pretty sensitive ears and have to turn the volume all the way up to hear very clearly. Speaker phone during a call is pretty bad too. Oh and I can see the lights from under the screen under the search and menu buttons o_O Doesn't bother me too much but I know that can't be normal.

The camera is making a crunching/clicking sound when I use those barcode scanner apps. I'm not sure if that's irregular or not, it seems to have trouble scanning in barcodes as well whereas the other one I had did it very quickly. Boy, I don't want to go exchange for another one.. I'm pretty close to just going back to the OV.

So far I've had no major issues but have noticed a few quirks or things that I like and dislike.

The backlight isn't super bright but the colors are vivid and the resolution makes the whole thing incredibly sharp. The LED flash for the camera is also very bright but helps take photos and I didn't notice them being washed out like some LED flashes. The GPS was accurate and overall I got a decent wireless signal. I've had no issues with wifi yet.

The speakerphone will take some getting used to as it's located on the bottom sides of the phone rather than the traditional back, and isn't too loud. Headphone output, at least through my car's speakers, was quite loud and not over-equalized in any way. There IS LED Notification on the front of the phone near the speaker grill, but it's limited to Red, Orange(ish yellow) and Green, and only works when the phone screen is off. I also have some light leakage on my unit, but it's not enough to be too noticed or put me off in any way. Also, the Dodol phone usage app isn't reporting any 3G data usage which I have no explanation for.

Sounds like you're hearing the camera try to focus.

Yes, that's what exactly what it's doing. As it's focusing on the barcode, it would click and refocus. I'm not sure if that's normal or some loose component that's ready to break.

slow tethering must be a VM thing, last night I tried a wired tether sessions and was getting amazing speeds.

Overall, for a $25 a month phone, this thing is pretty damn good

btw, which tethering program are you using?

Anybody try using apps like Google Sky map, or satellite AR, that use your G sensor or Compass? For some reason these apps are running Really choppy and I can't figure out why. I was just curious if anybody else has had this problem.

Its not a cpu problem, Its just sad my old LG phone can run these apps faster.

Everything else is running perfect. Good signal, gps works, games run great and fast.

I've had mine for a week. So far:

- LED message/email indicator fails to turn off after I've viewed the messages.

- Stock keyboard is crap and has no dictionary. Had to download a keyboard and dictionary from the market the day I got it.

- GPS is useless -- I can never get a fix on my location. I've let it sit for 10 minutes and it never finds me. My last phone was an LG Optimus V, and GPS on it was amazingly fast -- I often used it instead of my Garmin. I am on a business trip in SoCal presently and can't even use this phone for driving directions. Thank GOD I brought my Garmin or I would be royally screwed!

My colleague bought the Triumph the same day I did; returned the first one because it would not charge while the phone was turned on. Got another and the camera would not focus. He took it back and did not get another one. There seem to be some quality control issues afoot.
