Did anyone watch Heroes last night?

If you're a Heroes fan, you'll know that Sprint is heavily involved with it. Here's what I noticed and am hoping it's not just a simulation, though it probably is.

One of the characters, whose name escapes me (the hottie blonde that works with Noah Bennet.. not the cheerleader) was carrying a Hero. She wakes it up to the lock screen, swipes UP to unlock it and swipes UP again to bring up a contact list. Cool? I thought so but at the same time while watching it, I called BS because I know our phones can't do that.... or can they?

There's my question.

I was excited too, although my wife wasn't to impressed when I told her.

I think in one of the scenes when peter picked up his phone, he was in the call out screen.

Not to take away from the abundant seriousness of this thread, but generally UIs aren't real when used on screen. Better examples are movies from the 90s where the UI was generally all Shockwave (pre-Flash) and the appropriate keystrokes always showed up on screen regardless of what the actor would type. Although, when Bennett held his Pre to his face to make a call (about 45 mins in), it did glow with the Pre keypad on his cheek. I especially liked the super-subtle MiFi being uselessly moved on the table, all aglow with the Sprint logo.

Just like computer screens and televisions, these images are added later. You'll notice a movie that actually shows a computer screen that was on during filming, shows the horizontal lines and interference that does not capture / transfer well on film.

If I were to guess, the actress was holding a Hero that was turned off during filming and simply 'acted' the use of the phone by flipping up and down (generic movements), not realizing how the phone actually works. Then in post production, the images were added later to match her actions on screen.

The thing is, these products exist and aside from any editing to make images more pronounced or speeding things up for times sake there shouldn't be any nonexistant alterations. I personally hate exaggerated product placement (i literally didn't pay attention to the map as the camera was focused on the damn mifi) but at least leave the product 'as is' to consumers. Product placement is commercial, and the only hero commercial/ads ive seen show stock ui not mods.

Sidenote, they should have never advertised the instinct along with 24 because had jack depended on that POS we'd all be doomed.
