. Based on statistics, there were an unusually high number of accidents and fatalities on this road when it was named 666, so many gained the belief that anyone that traveled on this road would immediately be cursed.widespread stories surrounding the unexplained phenomenon of the haunted Highway 666 is the story that covers experiences that involve an ominous, black sedan that appears to charge individuals driving on this long stretch of road.

Highway 666 - The Unexplained Phenomenon

Has anyone traveled this hwy? Anything strange happen?

Been on it a couple times whilst traveling years ago. Never done the whole stretch though.

Nothing of note except the time we were driving back from a buddies wedding and his nephew was riding with me. He didn't understand why I had to get out my Iron Maiden CDs and blast 'Number of the Beast' over and over.

Have you checked to see if there are other roads with greater fatalities? I know the Bermuda Triangle is low of the list of places where ships disappear but high on the list of unexplained phenomena. As you investigate the BT, you will notice that the shape increases to account for missing ships that fall outside the BT.

Here in Utah, we had a place where an old woman would chase your car late at night. Insert scary ghost story here. Never saw the woman myself.

Tell people that Highway 666 is haunted, and it is guaranteed you will have more people saying they experienced something. As for the black car, Hmmm....

I totally agree with you. Tell people something is real and they will follow(iPhone, lol). They said; after they changed the name, strange things stopped happening. I think cause noone believed anymore. Just though it was interesting.

I recall a program on TLC (?). the "Psychic Investigators" took groups into a building without any reputation for haunted activity. They told the first group the room they were entering was haunted and most thought they experienced something.

They took the other group into the room and told them it was not haunted, and everyone agreed that there was nothing notable about the room.

Interesting thing about the power of suggestion.

There seems to be quite a few cable TV programs about haunted this and that. Clearly, something that interests the public.

i tell all the people i drive in my new car it must be haunted cause it gets a lot faster around 3k rpms :p the fun i have with that since most don't understand cars let alone how a turbo works or that my car is turboed.

I had one person who wont drive in my car because they are afraid that it will lead to them being possessed

Haha. I miss my GSX :(

ROFL at people believing in hauntings! There's a guy who works in the same place I do, but on night shift, who used to do paranormal ghost hunting stuff. Claimed he had an evil spirit attach to him, and that is was talking to him in the voices of his dead aunt and dead buddy, and then he had a breakdown because the spirit was messing with him so bad. Luckily, he found his Lawd and Save-ee-or Jesus Christ, and he's talking to his pastor now. If you ask me, he needs to talk to a psychologist and a psychiatrist and get that schizophrenia of his under control. Probably come from working 12 hour night shifts for so many years, not getting enough sleep.

By the way, I have the next 2.5 months off and want to take some nice long motorcycle rides, might have to make a night run on Hwy. 666, looks like a fun ride!

Meh it's a number. Name it 777 and convince people that they'll have good fortune in the near future. A gullible person rides on 777 and 2 days later gets a $5 bill back from a cashier instead of a $1. Is that a result of the Highway 777 or just an accident?

I agree with all you guys. I was just bored. Just like with the, Denver Airport thing. ;)

I like good haunted stories. They're just in good fun, especially regarding highways since I've driven on so many highways at night with like no other people. Probably the most nerve wrecking drive other than driving through a severe thunderstorm (stupid me) was driving in Texas towards Ft. Stockton from Baton Rouge, LA and seeing deer on the side of the road. I spotted deer like 6 times during that drive. I was so nervous that one was going to try to run across or just appear right in front of my headlights.

I wouldn't mind staying in a haunted house with a group of friends, even if some company makes it haunted. The experience would just be fun and scary. Perhaps add in a mission like we have to solve clues and find something throughout the house? That would be so much fun. lol
