Root How do you go from Apex 2.0 RC2 back to stock?

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and don't miss any steps ;)

I followed all the steps to install from the Linux cd, and the install completed. I then went in and did the factory wipe of data and cache, and it booted right back into the bootloader.

There were two different versions of the bootable cd software, So I tried both of them and had the same result.

I am on bootloader 30.04.... Do I need to do something different to make that work?

Sounds like he's using the linux cd since he said he tried two different versions of the cd.

After you wiped data/factory reset and wiped cache you rebooted and it went straight to the bootloader?

That's exactly what is happening. Seems very odd to me. I don't want to keep trying it over and over at this point, because I'm worried about the battery draining too low to even do an SBF.

I did notice one thing that was odd when doing the flashing with the CD's... In the instructions where it is telling you to do the factory reset, it says to hit OK by pressing the camera button. The camera button did not do anything on my phone. I tapped the power button and it kicked off the data/cache wipe. I had a message pop saying that it was successful, though.... just seems kind of strange to me.

have you tried rsd lite?

download rsd lite 4.9 its easy if you need help with it let us know
and the linux cd is easy
just put your phone in bootloader, cutting it off hold camera button, vol down, and power button

then cut your pc off, boot to the usb device
i think its the second option that you see on the usb defice, cause default will not put you into the sbf state

and hit 1 to proceed and hit enter, and just wait for the phone to reboot itself
and when it does, pull the battery

put it back in

hold home+power
once the phone turns on, release power
once you see the exclamation point
hit the search button
vol rocker down to wipe data
and wipe it by hitting the camera button, be careful cause you can barely tap the camera button and it accesses that menu,
once you wipe data and cache, just reboot and your set

That's literally exactly what I did, it it continues to reboot into the bootleader after I do the data wipe.

then there is a problem with the sbf file you downloaded, try redownloading the file

I just tried redownloading the SBF, and here is what happened in RSD Lite 4.9 using Android 2.2.1 System Version 2.3.340 Full (VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01):

Status - Interface BP: Loading RAM Downloaded for Bootloader.
Progress - Executed 97%
Result - In process...

It hangs here for several minutes and then it changes to this:

Status - Failed flashing process. Interface: BP Error sending RAM download for bootloader Device API Error 0x003003f Address: 0x18F000 Command ADDR (oxE023203F; phone connected
Progress -
Result - FAIL

I know that I have all of the USB drivers properly installed, because I have used RSD Lite 4.9 20 times in the past and I have never had an issue.

hrm

and you tried the linux cd? i use a usb device, now have you updated your moto drivers? how are you downloading this file?

I tried both RSD Lite and the linux CD. The Linux CD made it the whole way through the process, and it still booted back to the bootloader.

My USB drivers are all up to date, too.

I have tried 8 different SBF's that I found on Androidforums. Do you have a link to one that worked for you that I could try?

his phone may be corrupt or something, but he should be able to get back to being able to use his phone

after the whole rsd light process when you see that moto m pull the battery out
and put it back in
hold home+power then when you see the moto m release power, but continue to hold home and wait for the exclamation point

the fact that it keeps booting to the bootloader is something strange. that battery needs to charge, or else he is going to be in a world of hurt
