Men's rights in terms of the police

It seems to me that if there ever is an altercation where the police were to get involved in an almost any situation, that a woman would always be believed over a man. In other words, if there is some kind of so called domestic violence call, no matter who actually calls, that more than likely the man is going to go to jail before the woman ever will. All the woman has to do is say that "he hit me" and that is the end of the story no matter what actually happened. Does anyone agree with this? No matter if you agree or not, this is a fact the majority of the time.

youre looking at it from the wrong perspective......... I would agree that in most cases of domestic violence the male is taken to jail...... but there are many other factors involved.....

most cases of domestic violence the male is the violent party

most cases where the woman is the violent party the male will refuse to press charges for fear of public shame (no guy wants to admit he needed the police to stop a girl from beating him)

most cases that dont have cut and dry evidence such as black eyes/ bruises/ wounds etc will never make it to trial...... the charges will be dropped or reduced

and in many if not most states now the laws clearly state if theres any reason to believe (such as victim statement) either party touched the other in any way ..... 1 or both parties are required to be taken to jail

there are other factors as well but I think those are enough to make it clear

so if youre trying to say theres some discriminatory practice of always taking the male regardless of the circumstance..... I would have to totally disagree

You know it makes kind of sense. Let us look at some numbers.

MenWeb - Men's Issues: Battered Men Honestly, it does look like an ok site and a quick google search reveals about the same numbers

So about 65% of the time, the male beats the woman. About 35% of the time the woman beats the male. I would guess that mutual combat is in there somewhere. If you where a beating, I mean, betting person, you would bet the male beat the female by just statistics.

But honestly, I never have been any where near a domestic dispute, nor really have any first hand knowledge of anything like that.

Would love to ask how you know this? Because it is pretty interesting that you would come in stating facts about this, with out providing background.

But saying that, looking at the statistics, it does seem the majority of the time, the male is responsible for the domestic problems. Not saying that the female is 100% innocent. Because to be honest, your partner hits you once, you leave and never come back.

if a fight ever gets to the point where someone is arrested, it is time to end the relationship. Because, and trust me I have had some bad relationships, went it goes from talking to yelling, you are not helping the relationship. If it goes from yelling to arrest, you are toxic for each other.

There are days I want to kill everyone at my job and burn the stupid place down:eek:. Put for some reason society thinks that is wrong to do, so I just play video games:). Makes me a nicer person when I can take my homicidal tendencies out fictionally and not factually:rolleyes:. And the whole work force really understands that;).

For the record, ^^^^^ the first time I have used smiles in any post, ever.

Ah yes, video games, where you can find and beat on women without fear of going to the slammer (gta?.) lol, yea it helps getting out everything that's inside right? Just put your bosses face on whoever you happen to be blowing up at the moment :)

For the record, it was a joke. Actually a common joke around the office. But it is only a joke. I really love my job. Man people take things way to seriously. But when the stress starts to build up, we do go down the street to the paintball area and shoot each other. I suck at it, but it is a way to burn off steam.

Just saying, what you say can come back and bite you in the ass. I was pretty certain that this wasn't your pre-admission of you running into work tomorrow with an AK47 and mowing down everyone you can before someone takes you out. :D

My experiences (not directly, though). When a woman says that she's been hit, there is nothing that you or anyone else can do to stop the cuffs from coming out. No one is going to listen to you anymore and you're going to jail. Period. At least that's how it is my state.
But the same is true the other way round. If a guy says the woman threw something at him, the cuffs come out and the woman gets arrested.

Sorry Frisco but it has honestly ran it course. Anyone that googles the main topic will see that domestic abuse happens and both sides get arrested.

In some states, just calling the cops, someone has to go to jail.

To some degree I think it depends on who started it. I have seen the opposite (a woman being taken away because she hit her man). You just can't state absolutes. If things played out the way you state, an injustice was done. Plain and simple. Are we talking about laws/rights or are we talking about how police officers don't always uphold them properly? Two different things IMO.
