I'm sorry but if this is true then screw this shit, I'll just go with the Droid 3 when my contract is up August 19th

The good news is the D3 is a proven (so far) great device with better than expected battery life. Not to mention the pentile is IMO better with a 4" display

After looking at the DX2 and the D3, I prefer the display of the D3 and like the easier ability to operate the device with one hand.

Still not seeing why the Bionic is slightly thicker than the D3, unless the LTE takes up more space and perhaps has a 1900mah battery. No keyboard, so seems counter-intuitive to be thicker. Regardless, if Moto solved the 3G/4G stability and battery life issues of other 4G devices, the Bionic should rock.

I think I'm waiting til end of December to make a choice. Once I do that, I will stay away from forums and tech news until I'm ready to upgrade. All of this "bigger, better, faster" every other month is just too much. I have a real life I need to focus on.

I am leaning strongly in this direction as well, especially the "avoid the tech forums until I'm ready to upgrade"...lol

I think I might just buy a used Droid X, then sell it if/when something good in 4G form comes out on Verizon, probably the end of this year, beginning of next.

My patience is nearing its end for this device. On Aug 4, I will be in a VZW store purchasing something. If the Bionic lands, great, if not, looks like a D3 for me. Being without a device now is killing me (D1 is toast). Getting tired of this delay game.

I've managed to not kill my original Droid, I purchased early November 2009 ... It is on the verge though, I need this Bionic to come out!!! I suppose I do have full insurance and can get a refurb D1 to hold me over but i am IMPATIENTLY waiting and hoping August 4th is the date...

If this is true, the Bionic might, just MIGHT, be a real flagship phone. And if that's the case, devs will be crawling all over it and we should be seeing some excellent roms for rooted Bionics.

Droid-life along with all the other blogs are only opinions...no one actually has real facts on the truth's of actual launch dates yet...until it's officially announced by VW or Moto can anyone truly say when it will be available. So some of us can actually still have hope of it coming out next week....likely, probably not but you never know for sure. Is it highly likely Sam's won't have it until September? Highly likely. Is it likely VW won't have it until September based on that one screenshot from Sam's system? Don't know.

I'm past fed up with my Droid's limitations on memory and am ready to run the thing over. Heck,the Bionic we're waiting for will probably have a locked bootloader anyway. I've been looking at the charge too. I'm gonna wait till at least the 4th and if there is no for sure release date for the Bionic then I'm getting the Charge.

It's a game. They'll get you on the hook,jerk it and reel ya in. Best bet:don't play the game. Don't go fishing. If the phone you're looking at makes ya happy and you're satisifed,then leave it at that and go your way. Heck,the new phone should be powerful enough to last most of us more than a couple years time so we may not have to upgrade again for years! The only reason I'm upgrading my Droid is its very limited memory. Most of us don't have money to burn so playing it smart will save you money and headaches.

It's such a battle with me right now. I'm tired of the D1. Really had a frustrating deal with it last night bootlooping like mad because it don't like the 32gb card in it. It has these fits occasionally and drives me batty. On the left hand,I want something now! Tired of the frustration with the D1. On the right hand though,is patience telling me wait,get the right phone instead of the first one off the shelf,see if folks are happy with it and THEN jump.

Yeah well gb has yet to be rooted so unless the bootloader is unlocked I wouldnt get your hopes up. The only gb that has were leaks so any phones that come with gb stock you may be waiting awhile for root.

I doubt it. No matter the specs, it can't hog more bandwidth than any other phone. Netflix HD streaming support was in the works way before Verizon decided to grandfather us in. . . the Bionic will suck down the same amount of GB as the Dinara, IF such a phone will ever exist.

I think Motorola has already proven it can talk a big game, but can't quite deliver. The Bionic is still under wraps with no confirmation 7 months after announcement.

I'm not expecting anything like the Dinara until next Spring or Summer at the earliest.

Is it confirmed that the Bionic will be thicker? I know D3 is 0.5" and I saw the faked Droid Does leak showing Bionic at 0.52", but is the 0.52" actually confirmed? As far as I know, the fake Droid Does leak was the only thing showing that, but maybe I missed something official?

I'm really hoping the Bionic will be < 0.5" thick...

Screw Motorola, i am tired of waiting and i will no longer buy their phones from mow on. i am going to switch to Apple iphone from now on, i will wait until the iphone 5 comes out. i know it will be way much better than any motorola phone. as soon as i get my iphone 5 i will sell my droid x2 which really sucks. hasta la vista Motorola

Ditto. I fully expect the Dinara to be *announced* as CES and then tentatively have a June/July release date. Moto is going to be lucky to get the Bionic released in 2011 let alone another "super" phone!!!!!
