Help Voice Earpiece Quality

Several people, myself included, are experiencing buzzing/rattling in the earpiece during voice calls. In my case, if the volume is over 50%, the earpiece periodically buzzes and vibrates like it's a little loose. This is my 2nd Triumph, and the first was exchanged for precisely this reason. The first one was doing this even more.

I'd like to know if this is a general issue on all of them, or if I need to exchange mine yet again. So, if you can, please state the following in your response:

1. Does your earpiece buzz/rattle during voice calls?
2. If yes, under what volume ranges?
3. If yes, how bad would you say the buzzing is, say on a scale of 1-10?

Yep - same here. I didnt notice it for a few days as I use the phone mainly on BT thru my trucks mic/speakers:

1. Does your earpiece buzz/rattle during voice calls? - YES
2. If yes, under what volume ranges? - Anything over 50% becomes distorted and its hard to hear the person clearly.
3. If yes, how bad would you say the buzzing is, say on a scale of 1-10? I would say its an 8 - I think Im going to swap mine out at BB.

Ialso found a thread for another Motorola phone where 50 pages of people complained of the same issue. I will link it when I get home. All had earpiece/mic issues.

Too bad - I love this phone and I can overlook issues but if people cant understand me or I cant hear them - its not a phone.

Just got back from Best Buy and they swapped the phone for me. Voice calling is now PERFECT. No crackling on the earpiece and I am 100% understandable again. Im Happy!

BTW - BB were awesome. No quibbles and a 5 minute visit. I was so impressed I bought the 2 year BB warranty for $40...I figure if a Version 2 appears in a year I can trade-in for that if I have any issues

magohn did the problem ever come back or is it still sounding great? I just bought my phone from Target and had the same problem with the voice quality sounding like a vibrating broken tiny headphone speaker when the volume is turned up or when people speak louder. Call quality is great but voice quality is no good. I exchanged the phone for another at Target and had the same problem. I will exchange it again but I am just wondering is this what people are dealing with?

Touch wood - my MT is still sounding great on both ends of the call.

I have already exchanged twice so now I am on my third phone. And I still have the same problem it is upsetting but I really think this phone is the most for the money considering the plan and phone options. So i guess I will have to get a bluetooth headset and forget about the earpiece problems, the low battery life, and the fact that it doesn't always have great signal like verizon would have.
