Best Video Converter

Handbrake has a ton of controls, but you don't have to mess around with most of them and there's a number of pre-defined templates and more you can download (so you simply select source, select output template, click start!)

It's hard to beat for the [free] price, features, etc.

Recently we were going on a trip, and I wanted up load up the iPad for the little person, so I used DVD Decrypter and then batched processed everything using Handbrake. Worked great and most of the resulting files were ~800MB (mostly animated films, nothing over 2 hours).

yes. i dont bother with video converters either. especially for some movies like tron legacy, dark knight etc. where some scenes are in imax format, which actually fills up the SGS2 screen.. those get cropped when converted (unless i did something wrong, dont think so). just copy it directly.. im sure space isnt an issue :D

but if u really want to convert, handbrake is the best for me. just google how to convert video on handbrake for galaxy s2, u get the exact options u need to configure. i think its basically using the ipod touch preset and modifying it. u can then save that as a new SGS2 preset and ur good to go. thats wat ive done

Thanks thats all great. I'll give just copying them onto the phone a try (will this work .avi files?) then if that doesn't work I'll have a look at handbrake.

Also, how is everyone copying their media onto the phone what with Keis being totally useless? I'm REALLY struggling with this issue so any help would be massively apreciated. Thanks!
