I'm not having a lot of luck with it..... It's got the boot.img system.img and userdata.img and I put these in the 'image' folder but it will not update.....

unless anyone else has a clue... trying to trawl around chinese websites using google translate.

Hi, this isn't possible to boot as standard leos. You must use fastboot method.

You must prepare your PC with adb driver and telephone connection. Remove SD card. Push mirror button then switch on phone. When phone vibrate release mirror button (you will see information about fastboot) and connect phone to computer. Start adb and install with adb commands. You can find description of fastboot method on the web. It's not depend on phone brand. Only connection steps and fastboot switch is depend on phone. You can check this chines page there are some different method description of brush. Or check this http://lephone.it168.com/thread-1900816-1-1.html

An evening and a morning playing with the new OS... I have to report that it is sooo much better. It basically turns it into a nexus S with the 2.3.2 gingerbread. After installing google market and apps, everything syncs really well as it is supposed to. Google earth works and many other apps run better and smoother. The response is better and the battery life appears to be slightly longer and good riddance to the chinese nonsense....

only issue I seem to find is that the screen dims on wake sometimes but have put a widget on the first screen to quickly sort it if need be... worth it for a much more usable phone. :)

I don't know how to use the pc version of fastboot, but if you can figure it out the IT168 Nova 2.3.2 gingerbread ROM is worth installing I recon

Hello,
you wrote that you dont't use fastboot method for brush. How do you provide brush in other way? Can you describe? thanks

I DID have to use the fastboot method. I ran fastboot-mac through the terminal in the actual directory where fastboot-mac terminal app was placed with the files
./fastboot-mac flash system system.img (I think it was)
./fastboot-mac flash boot boot.img
./fastboot-mac flash userdata userdata.img

Pretty much identical in Linux / Ubuntu too

this is for mac OSX as I use hackintosh - you'll need to look into it for how to brush the ROM in microspew 7 ;op

Guys,

This firmware is not new, it's the same one made several months ago by the chinese guy named "Big Z".

It's was released in the Alpha stage, after that the Big Z stopped the development for personal reasons.

So it works, it's fast but it also has some bugs.

There are some other chinese guys trying to continue the development but without big improvements so far.

There is a rumor about the A Team working on a 2.3 firmware, but unconfirmed.

It's not perfect and does have a few bugs, although personally I'm happier with the bugs and a much better OS. Market even works properly and sees compatible apps.

I can only describe how I did this is Max OS 10.6 using terminal to brush the three files.

searched and downloaded fastboot-mac
put fast-boot mac in the same folder as the three .img files
started terminal
pointed the terminal to the folder on the desktop using command CD then dragging the folder to the terminal window the paste in the location.
Connected the phone the mac - didn't need to install any other software
typed the three commands:

./fastboot-mac flash userdata userdata.img

./fastboot-mac flash boot boot.img

./fastboot-mac flash system system.img

In each step, it will report something like:

sending 'system' (xxxx KB)... OKAY
writing 'system'... OKAY

The system.img takes a while. It is larger.

Reboot. You can do this by:
./fastboot-mac reboot

I suppose it depends on what you want from your phone, but I prefer having a standard android - if you can live with the screen being dim on occasions when waking and adjusting it.

I'll be keeping my eye out for any other updates as I'm sure there will be some. Just a bit annoying having to use google translate to translate from chinese.
