(I take no credit for this Dev's work, was just lucky enough to spot it on XDA, and am privileged to bring it over to AF first :D.)

The following is from his thread [Kernel]Golden Monkey 1.0 (30-July-2011) - xda-developers:

Holy crap, netarchy is still alive!? Yes, yes I am.
Despite the many rumors of my untimely demise by the hands of hordes of lust-stricken women, I am yet still standing. ;D

Once upon a time there was this company that made phones called HTC.
Now HTC had this habit of making pretty neat phones and then being absolutely crap about releasing source code. Oh wait, I said "had" when I really meant BLOODY HAS.

So now that HTC has FINALLY released gingersense sources after much ado, I bring to you the initial release of a kernel that is named after the variety of tea I was drinking
at the time I decided it would be a good idea to come up with a name for this bloody thing: Golden Monkey (which is an awesome tea btw).

Current things of interest:
- Overclocking and static undervolting
- CIFS
- TUN

It's early yet, and there is a lot more stuff due to be added in the coming days, but as I just couldn't put this down until I at least put up *something* for you guys, I'm
giving you this early build to play with.

It turns out that while these builds are aimed at gingersense, they may also work on CM7 and other AOSP-based roms (your mileage may vary, I make no guarantees ;D)

Are there bugs? Yes probably ;D Consider this a preview for the moment.

Downloads:

Current Version: 1.0

Golden Monkey 1.0 (Universal)

If you are using one of the Synergy rom nightlies (and ONLY the nightlies) you may need to use this version:

Golden Monkey 1.0 (Synergy Nightlies ONLY)

If you like this Dev's work, DONATE!

I haven't tried using that app (don't use facebook) so I can't say whether this is just limited to your phone or a kernel problem, but Net did say there would probably be bugs and to consider this "a preview" ;).

Yeah, he did say its a wip. I just want to see if more peeps have the same fc before I post over at xda. :)

I kept getting emails from friends that pictures of our band playing are in there. Wanted to check em out.
I'm in the process if getting everyone switched over to google+. ;)

Back on topic. The eff book isn't an issue anymore. Uninstalled then reinstalled works fine.
The only thing that I've noticed so far is the lock screen is laggy and jumpy. I don't know if this is the kernel or my screen off profile in setcpu. Screen off 245/245 profile. Battery has improved obviously with the screen off profile.
I might disable setcpu for a day or two and just run the kernel.

Edit: I disabled setcpu, and the lockscreen lag is gone. I guess my piece has a little trouble waking up from 245/245. I'm not very versed in the setcpu yet, should I try a slightly higher value for screen off?

well with this kernel, setcpu screen off profile 128/245, and the v6 supercharger script, my phone is super snazzzy!!. i'm currently on the mik 3d alpha and i'm digging this setup so far. no lag. i'm off charge for about 4hrs and i'm still at 92% with moderate usage so far. man i can't wait for some sbc havs kernels to come out.

edit:i'm also overclocked at 1152

That is the setup I'm going to try. I want to flash Mik3D soon. And finally some kernels have come.

ocnbrze, how are you getting such good battery life out of your phone? i unplug mine and it goes straight to 90%. right now im running kings rom alliance with the new freedom v0.2 kernel. i did just set cpu to 245/245 on screen off. anymore ideas? i am downloading mik 3d alpha now. we'll see what happens

well every kernel will react differently on different phones. so it might not work for you. i did not do anything different other then what i said was my setup. it did only last like 14 hrs total. so i'm now on the freedom kernel v.2 and the mik3d a1 rom. i'm at 6hrs off charge and i have 65% with moderate usage (texted a few, 4 phone calls, and a few minutes on the web). so we will see how this goes.

Grrr, I assumed you were getting good results. I guess its just a wip and we should be grateful we even have a custom kernel. :D
My setup would have given me about the same as you today, I think. I was at 10 hours + with 40% left almost 2 hours awake. Almost 30 minutes on a phone call to the wiff.
C'mon netarchy let's get sum havs cooked in!
