Hey everybody,

I got the Desire S 3 days ago, but I've had some problems with it, which I can't seem to find the solution for on Google.

The problem is that the battery icon randomly turns grey and has an exclamation mark through it. After a while it turns back to the normal green battery like nothing happened. The phone works perfectly normal when this occurs and functions normally, it's just annoying to look at.

I personally think it's a software problem and hope it get solved with a new update.

But would like to here if there's a fix, or if anybody else have tried it.

Thanks in advance :)

Update: it seems it only occurs when I don't use the phone. I can see from my battery indicator app that as soon as the it for example goes from: 72 % to 71 % it goes back to normal green icon. Like the phone doesn't recognize the battery when the phone isn't being used :)

Seems like something a software update would fix, but I'm still interested in hearing your guys opinions.

Sounds like the phone is trying to calibrate the battery and doesn't know any information about it during those drain periods? Leave your phone on until the battery completely discharges and then charge the battery in continuous charge until full. That should sort it.

How long does a charge typically last?

The charge usually lasts 6-8 hours. I always charge it during the night. I have never let it run dry. Imma try that and then recharge it

thx!

Six to eight hours seems a little rum to me, but then again I have no idea of your usage.
I have vacation atm so I haven't been using it as much as I would on a normal week day. The phone hasn't gone under 70%. The phone is on 16% now so it'll be dead soon. Then imma do a full recharge.

Update: I did what you said. Let it run dry and then recharged it full, but the icon still appears :(

I have the same problem.

The phone works fine and I don't have any issues with the battery life.

My issue is that on some occasions, not every time, the phone will switch off. I noticed it if there is pressure on the back part of the phone. So to me it suggest the battery is loose somewhere. I can happen as much as 10times a day.

Is there any suggestions out there to help with this?
