May be EE14 modem update . You need to try and find out what it is before you disable it . As for disabling the update pop-ups . Autostarts will do it . If you find out what it is and still want to disable it , I'll check back later today and tell you what to do . Autostarts will need to be purchased via the Market .

EDIT: it may also be just an app. wanting to update . You need to find out .

If I understand the question, you are talking about two different thing.

One mans Bloatware might be another mans favorite apps. Bloatware is the crap that the providers put on the phone as system apps that you can not delete but are not necessary to use the phone. It might be a game, an app designed to sell your something or anything that you could care less about. You have to be rooted to get rid of it. Shabby has a new Shabbyleaf that will be part of 1.0 that will help delete bloatware so that you do not delete something important by mistake.

I thing the Biker addressed the updates part of question.

thanks i guess i should have rephrase my earlier question. thanks i just wanted to stop the system update cause im rooted and dont want to install the update and lose root forever on this phone

Thats not true, you can root the phone after the update, the one click root works for updated phones.
You may need to run the update right after powering up the phone at the samsung logo.

On my first phone I rooted and there was no OTA yet. When the OTA came out, it could not find my phone because I had Shabbymodded. So I ran the Modem Update instead. Ran fine but not quite happy with battery life. Finally bricked it somehow.

On the second phone, I let the OTA run and then Rooted. I did reboot the phone and start the batch file at the logo and it rooted the first time. Apparently, the OTA unrooted but did not do a whole lot to prevent rerooting. It did not stop the One Click Root from working (there may have been some mods to make it still work). The OTA did some other good stuff too though.

My experience has been that it is BETTER to run the OTA first. Battery Life has been significantly better than it was on the first phone.
