Please help me in getting the answers to the following questions I got:

1. Can I flash any radio version with any ROM or should it be specific to a specific ROM?

2. Is there a specific list of latest Radio versions anywhere? And how can I check which Radio version I got? Which is the BEST so far?

3. Is there any latest Kernels list aswell? And the Kernel is flashed using the same method like flashing the ROM? Which is the BEST so far?

4. What is MD5 checksum and why is it necessary to check prior to installation?

Cheers !

Flashing new radios is the QUICKEST and BEST way to permanently brick your phone. Do not proceed unless you have big cojones, you are well aware of the risks, and you have done your research first (such as the OP is doing now).

With that out of the way, the first time I flashed a new radio on mine I was breathing pretty heavy but honestly it went pretty easy.

1) I would say no. The radios are specific to the carrier and the phone hardware - some phones will run radios that were meant for other phones, but let a developer make that decision, don't experiment. The radio should be specific to your phone, and well tested.

2) Not that I've ever found. The radios I've flashed have all come from XDA though I'm sure there's access to them around here as well. You can check your current radio by going through Menu >> Settings >> About Phone >> Software information and checking the Baseband version.

3) Can't answer you here, I'm running a ROM on my Inc that doesn't play well with custom kernels yet.

4) It's a files digital fingerprint. If you download a ROM, kernel, radio or other file and the md5sum doesn't match, you have an altered or incomplete file. Corrupt files brick phones, so being pedantic about these things isn't anal, it's the only way to be.

Hope that helps a little. :)

I have an unbranded DHD which can run any carrier SIM and for the two ROMs I have tried so far, I didn't flash their recommended Radios but still I didn't have any problems. Since this process is RISKY, I'm skeptical of whether to flash the recommended Radios or not

Personally I think the only reason to update your radio is a) it just isn't working outright or b) you're getting horrible signal and you're beyond a shadow of a doubt it isn't hardware or geographically related. I suppose there's a c) you're a masochist who likes to live life dangerously.

Honestly I probably would have left mine alone, but for some reason Nils 3.0 rom was causing the original radio on my INC to drop signal completely every few seconds. 4 bars, no bars, in a never ending loop. My stock radio worked fine with the other roms I flashed, but I wanted Nils bad enough to give it a go.

In summary it's not a rocket scientists process to get it done, but if your phone is working and your call quality is acceptable, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Every ROM has a recommended radio, as not all radios work with every ROM

2. Is there a specific list of latest Radio versions anywhere? And how can I check which Radio version I got? Which is the BEST so far?

Here is a list of all radios for the DHD. You can check which radio you have in the bootloader
I recommend 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2

3. Is there any latest Kernels list aswell? And the Kernel is flashed using the same method like flashing the ROM? Which is the BEST so far?

I don't think there is, but you can find them all separately on XDA
I recommend LordModUE but it doesn't work with all ROMs

4. What is MD5 checksum and why is it necessary to check prior to installation?

This is to make sure you have the correct file, and that it isn't corrupted

Cheers !

Hope those answered helped :)
