Annoying calls from my own number

Getting 5-7 calls per day from my own phone number (with the number 11 added to the front of it). Web searches show others have similar issue, but have only seen guesses at the cause. Virgin is refusing to answer my emails on this. Just say they need to send this to a higher level. I ignore the calls and they go to voicemail, but strange how none of these calls is being charged to my quota. Thought about calling back, but am afraid that the "11" might make it an international call that is some scam costing me a bunch of money. This phone number is only known by a very small number of close people. This is not some prank. Can anybody share what this is all about?

Since there's only a small number of people who know your number, if it were me Id get the number changed. This should be free if you call VM directly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will probably do that if it continues. I would still like to find out why this is happening.

It could be someone trying to hack into your voicemail. Cnet did an article on it awhile back.
