im alittle surprised no one has linked this allready

apparently new TB rooters, and those coming from devices other than the eris dont share my distrust of clockwork ;)

while this isnt quite as exciting as the permanent s-off patch, its somethin ive been waiting for since i rooted

check it out here:
Team Win Recovery Project for Thunderbolt with ext3 support (8/1 Updated to 1.0.2))

I am to chicken at this point. I'll let it cook for a month or two. Will the ext3 support allow you to boot off of an SD card?

looks like the color themes are working yet, according to the thread something to do with sd card not mounting on boot time.

also,it does not restore clockwork backups.... at least not yet. for now if you need to access an older backup, youll need to reinstall clockwork.

So I flashed this recovery and everything was going well. Today I decided to flash the OMFGB nighly, made a nandroid, wiped everying, flashed as normal. No go. Could not connect to wifi and couldn't give SU access to titanium. Cleared data from both Titanium and SU, nothing, reboot, phone is unable to read SIM card. Full wipe again, flashed rom again, flashed different kernel, did not flash gapps this time. Now wifi just says error and won't even turn on. Booted back into recovery tried to restore nandroid, no nandroid available to restore. I ended up flashing back to LTB 2.5 and it worked. Not sure what happened perhaps this recovery does not like OMFGB, but what happened to the nandroid I made? Also I noticed when I boot into recovery it states that it failed to read the SD card, I can access the SD card no problem. Just seems odd. I am thinking I will try to flash OMFGB again later perhaps if a new nightly drops tomorrow or tonight I will try it.

Nope I didn't see there is an update. The settings seem wierd, played around with them some and they seem to not take after the first boot but then after another boot into recovery they did...I will likely get the update before I try to flash anything else. I was glad it flashed LTB okay or I would be without a phone all day.

I was unable to restore a nandroid backup, if someone else could test and see if it works for them then I would say I failed to do something I should have when setting up the recovery (IDK what as it is just an hboot flash). I personally like the look better than CWM and it seem to be quicker than CWM

From what scotty told me you can't restore a CWM backup in TWRP. I'd suggest making a new backup in TWRP before doing anything with it if you plan to keep using it

This was a backup made with TWRP. I know you can't restore nandroids from CWM ;). I think the recovery is not seeing my SD card correctly, when I boot in recovery it has an error at the bottom of the screen something like "E: unable to mount /sdcard" When wiping it also seems to have an error either finding .androidsecure I am not able to use my phone currently, I'm at work, so the errors may not be exactly what I've posted, I am able to access the SD card to choose zip files so I have no clue what is going on with it, perhaps a partition issue with ext3

Hey, you never know ;)

I was reading that some others are having SD issues as well. It's probably best to roll back to CWM until they have a few more release under their belt.

Also, for what it's worth, I asked about the color themes in the XDA thread and they work for EVO3D users, so it must have gotten lost in translation to our TB's somehow.

I was all about flashing it, but I'm going to hold off until it seems more stable. Recovery is too important to have it not work properly. Plus, unlike some (cough, scotty, cough ;)) I have no beef with CWM

Color theme worked for me, on boot in recovery 1 set color theme, on boot in recovery 2 change did not take, on boot in recovery 3 color theme changed. I am thinking about going back to CWM (will be if I can't get nandroid working) but I want to test this out some more first because I am sure people will be asking about issue that arise from this recovery sooner than later. I do like the hboot like power to select instead of the home softkey.

one thing to keep in mind... this is ported to the TB,and hacked for the ext 3 support. the thread does say this is temporaty, team win will be giving us official support,so i would advise newer rooters to prolly stay away from it until its a lil more stable.

for those of us with rom/recovery/hboot ADD the release today says to have fixed the sd card mount on boot,so the themes should be working(heres our blue, bro :D)

yesterday when i was messing with it,i was rebooting recovery several times trying to get the theme to apply(before i went to the thread and saw it not working was an issue  but i really wanted that CM theme),and it froze at the splash screen(white with green htc) finally i quit giving it the benefit of the doubt it was gonna boot and plugged it in. adb saw it,so an adb reboot recovery got it back without having to pull the battery.

jusy an FYI if you get hung and are near a computer with working ADB :D

For me it seemed like nandroid worked fine but when I went to restore it the backup was no where to be found. If you can get nandroid working you should see check the system.img from it ;)

apparently you missed this in the other thread ;)

i want to flash an unmodified mr2 to test the new s-off block, then hboot the updated team win recovery(simulating an "oops i flashed the wrong ruu scenario),then do some backups(and check some other things;) :D)
:D

wow i really like this recovery. i cant wait for us to have official support and bugs worked out so more of ya could use it without worry.

i made 3 backups... it made them in 240-280 seconds.

i restored cm7-restored in 142 seconds, and booted up just fine.

i didnt flash any roms, but i did flash superuser to root mr2 and that worked fine. since the restore went smoothly,i assume the wipes worked fine.

once this is further along and a lil more reliable,it kicks clockworks ass :D its fast, its got some useful options(reboot bootloader),the menus are more logical(in my humble opinion) and cool colors to boot. ive got mine set on CM theme now

yeahha, hate to say it but seems you may have some other sort of issue. all my backups are present, and i transfered them all to my computer. so far this is workin great for me.
