Help Anyone else STILL not receive the update?

Well I figured id try my luck with a certified one before I root so I called Verizon and told them. Before they sent me one they told me they would call HTC to see if there were any other solutions... I never did the first update which messed everyone's phone up originally so he suggested that since my software is two versions old maybe that has something to do with it. Then he said HTC was still rolling it out but if that was the case for me I should be receiving a no update available message which clearly isn't happening. My notice goes from searching for update to disappearing. he then after speaking with HTC said to try typing this sequence into the call box *#*#2432546#*#*. Then push talk. Then after it says connected or logged in or whatever it does pull the battery wait 30 secs. Then reinsert, reboot and try it again. This did not work for me so they're sending me the refurbished, but I figured I'd put this out there in case it does work for some others that haven't got it yet... Also if its just saying no update found, keep waiting I guess, that's not a phone problem, just they haven't rolled it out to your phone yet...(or so I was told). If you still have the disappearing box like I did, you can get anoher phone since he said that seems like a phone malfunction. Hope this helps some what to someone!

Just curious why you want the update so bad? I'm still running the original version that came with the phone too. I never got the "reboot" update or the last one with the fix. My phone works ok, still drops data and has some text messaging issues but overall works fine. I still have the free mobile Hotspot feature, and no, they did not charge me for it on my most recent bill. If my phone is off the "grid" then that's fine with me. When GB comes out, if I can't get that update I will notify VZW...otherwise enjoy your free mobile Hotspot, while everyone else is paying for it!

Some updates (mostly my experience with older Verizon phones) would also roll out updates that were needed to recognize new towers being put up or updates to the towers. Not sure Verizon rolls these updates out to the phones via the same delivery method but if you're having data issues then updating your phone may be your best bet.

I think the LTE sim is supposed to either update automatically to see the new towers or doesn't need to update in order to use new towers which is why *228 is not needed (other than it frying the SIM until VZW blocked it on LTE).

There is a radio packed into the update that provides more stable connections and better handoffs between 3g and 4g both ways.

One of the key features that sold me on the phone was navigation... For my job I use it quite a bit... Currently it can take up to 20 minutes to load which sucks if your en rout... My data connection also isn't very stable, and although I do have a car charger, if battery life improves it'd be an added bonus. As for the 3g hotspot, I don't find myself using it that often, but I can see how that would be a factor... I was told that my phone has a problem itself that's not allowing the update, so I don't want a broken phone either... It's one thing if I had the option of updating but I don't, the searching box supposedly shouldn't be disappearing as it does.

I went through all the processes: battery removal, off/on -- followed all the instructions.

Called Verizon -- they couldn't help; they put me on a 3-way with Android Tech. They were useless. All I wanted to do was run Verizon's own app!

Here's the word -- "The server is clogged with requests for update. Keep trying for a week or so, at all hours. If that doesn't work, wipe your phone back to factory settings, and re-install all your apps, contacts, etc. The software update must be installed over the air -- Verizon can't help"

Anyway - that's what Android said. My response is somewhat impolite, and not professional!!!

I'm planning to take the phone into Verizon, and tell them to either take it back [with full refund] or provide a phone with the new software.

Was out and about this weekend and decided to stop by the VZW store and let tgem know I still did not get the update (which I'm not all that upset about). I told the guy that I never got any updates and was still running the original software that the phone came with back in April. I told him that I tried all the tricks, factory reset, turning LTE off, all that stuff and the phone just has the "disappearing" window thing going on. I also told him that I'm still getting free mobile Hotspot too. He told me that the update is done rolling out and that I should have received it by now. Apparently phones that never got the "reboot" update were not getting the new update and that it is a glitch with the phone. He told me that he would just live with it until GB comes out and if I wanted GB then I could swap the phone out. He said to enjoy the free Hotspot until I want to upgrade...lol. I may never go to GB.
