Help Android Market wont Update

Help 2011 Summer Market Update 2.3.6

Just got finished with factory reset of my Droid Incredible 2 and for some reason after the reset my android market reverted back to 2.3.4 .

Iv'e tried everything to get this working but it wont update

So far ivve cleared cache and restarted as well as cleared data for market updater service

Good question. I've tried to force an update to the new Market app and... nothin'. What am I missing?

Mine updated by itself, only reason I can think of why is I did a battery pull to try to make my dinc2 show the gingerbread update...maybe that did something cause right after I put it back in, i noticed market was different...

Oddly, my DINC2 continues to not update Market. Beats the heck out of me why. Although... hmmm... at one point I tried a pre-release version and decided to back it out. I wonder if, somehow, that's marked the installation in a way that prevents the update. I may just go back and try deleting Market outright and hoping for the best... Hoo boy!

Yes and no. I downloaded an .apk with the new version, I downloaded Apk Installer and installed it, and all of a sudden Market flipped over to the new version even though I didn't knowingly pull the trigger on the update.

Who knows, maybe all that downloading scared Market into updating. [/headscratch]

I really like the look of the new market, but it's really laggy and always asks to enable background content. I uninstalled the downloaded .apk and reverted back to the original market. Hopefully a real update won't be as slow.

I can't say as it's laggy, at least via a WiFi connection, and I haven't seen any obvious signs of background activity (that is, no "OK to run xyz in background? YES/NO") - all with the OTA version I received recently. HTH

I like the new look as well and how you can watch the video preview of the app. It is very laggy always getting stuck on loading.

How were you able to revert back to the old version, I tried to manage applicatios and I uninstalled the updates only to have it instantly re-update itself and download the new version again, how exactly did you accomplish this without it instantly going back?
I want to go back to the old one too.

New update sucks. I did exactly what the post above me did but my phone did not update itself again. Too damn laggy

Is it supposed to be an OTA update like the gingerbread update was?

yes it is.Although mine never installed regularly so You can force the update like i did by googling the android marker 3.026, download and install and you have the new market. If you want to install just go to mangae applications.

I've yet to receive the official update, so I downloaded the .apk from the xda forums. Even when I go to the market under manage applications, there is no option to update. I noticed that a program called market updater is installed, but all options there are greyed out.

Hmm if the apk didn't install like a regular application then maybe you got the wrong one.

It installed correctly. It's just slow and sucky. Everything after xda forums, I was referring to the official app.

You would figure since Google dominates the world, they'd produce less a less sucky marketplace.

You guys should be able to find the .apk file online just do a google search and you should be able to install it with no problems

I got mine from the xda developers forum, so I trust it and it installs just fine. It's just a crappy app. It's always laggy! Always!

i am right there with ya it came with the rom i am on and i am not a huge fan of it
