I have always wanted to run CM7 on my DX. But I like to run ROMs in the long term, not change them all the time (nightlies don't count IMO).
I will be coming from my DX on 2.3.3 running the stock android deodexed to run the BWC 2.3.3 theme with launcherpro... which seems to be DEAD
I have also re-written many of the stock apps to .bak (and would like to know if I need to write them back to .apk before I do anything).
SO, should I just follow the usual pattern of back-up > wipe data, cache, delvik > SBF to 2.3.340 > z4root/bootstrap D2 > download the normal file on rootzwiki
OR am I in a position to use the MONSTER.zip and skip the whole SBF thing. If I do this should I still change my .bak apps to .apk in root explorer?
One last thing, what is GAPPS?
If you are of any help, as always I appreciate it and am truly grateful. This site keeps me coming back whenever I hear of good news in the modding community and I see it as THE site for info on android, period.
