iphone for sprint

I have always wanted an iphone but love Sprints plans and the amount they charge! I really like my evo though but dont know what to do with my next upgrade LOL I saw the motorola fonton or whatever and it looks pretty cool but I am not sure it matches up to the evo and I am not crazy about the looks of the evo 3d either lol. I am a sprint premiere member so I get a new phone yearly I just dont know which one to go for and want to wait to see if they really get the iphone! decisions decisions lol

i dont know i think that the iphone is a little overrated in my opinion. my friend has one and i just do not like it. it felt small. i was not impressed by the retina display. i love my evo and its big ass screen. and i like sense better then ios4. but that is just my opinion. i want to check out what the photon is all about. the specs sounds amazing. my upgrade is due in nov. so i'm going to wait and see what comes out for the holiday season.

I actually think the iphone is great, it does a lot of things great. I would recommend the iphone to a lot of people. Heck if Android wasn't around I would use it, but for me I like to customize my phones the way I like them.

Android suits me better, iphone suits others better. I think both are great, just depends on the person.

Rather than hammer on the deficiencies of the iPhone vs the EVO (or other awesome Android phone), let me add this tidbit for the OP:

You say you like Sprint because of the plan pricing. Keep in mind that IF the iPhone ever does come to Sprint (imho, doubtful) - it won't have the great plan that Sprint offers with all of its other phones. You can blame Apple for this - they are VERY controlling over what gets charged and what options are available. For an example - check the plan pricing on the iPhone vs other phones on both ATT & Vz.

Name one thing an iphone can do better than a higher-end Android phone.

here are 2:

1) be used extensively all day without recharging, or

2) running any of the numerous high quality app that are not available in the android market but are available through ios.

My evo 3D is my second high end android phone and I like it a lot, but the Apple garden/prison has a lot of good points also. ( and some weak points)

to get back to the original post, I suspect that iphone will eventually come to sprint, but there's nothing official yet.

My EVO 3D goes all day without a charge. It has a higher capacity oem battery than the iphone 4 that is actually removable and even replacable with an extended battery.

What apps are so high quality on iOS that there is no high quality equivalent on the Android market?

you are correct about the removable battery but your experience of going all day without recharging is different then that of most users. Check in the evo3d or Evo 4 g forum for examples.

As for apps there are literally thousands of examples. Ones that are prominent for me include the games monopoly and civilization revolution, a wide variety of apps by national geographic, and most of my audubon nature guide books, though a few have made it onto android.

I am a fan of android, but the iphone has some advantages. There are thousands of threads of discussions on this so I will decline to discuss it further here.

The point I made here already is that iphone is better for some and Android is clearly better for us here.

Yes I love Android and that is what I use. But there are tons of people out there that love the iphone. It is a lot easier to use by default, there are countless of older people/and young kids that can use an ipod/ipad/iphone. This is great for them, a lot of people don't like to tinker with their phones, they just want it to work for them.

There is nothing wrong with this, for people like that, the iphone is the way to go. Also generally the iphone gets better battery life, this is for a few reasons. It doesn't have true multitasking like Android. No widgets or live wallpapers either. So this helps it battery life. Also ios has a lot less lag than a lot of the android phones, with each update android is getting better, but there is so much more going on with it that it is acceptable to me and hardly noticeable nowadays.

I personally like widgets and live wallpapers. I love tinkering with my phone all the time. Clearly I am all for android.

But no should be saying the iphone is crap, it is a great device, just not my taste. Clearly us on androidforums are going to favor android for the most part.

The iPhone is 4 year old technology that has been repackaged year after year.

Anyone who has need of a smartphone can figure out how to use most features of Android. People who are too old to figure out technology should stick to basic flip phones, not an iPhone. This is coming from someone with 4 years of wireless sales and 1 year of wireless repair technician.

That makes no sense, someone too old who cant figure out technology shouldn't use a smartphone? When said people can figure out an iphone, then let them. Why does this seem to bother you?

I understand you hate the iphone, but a lot of people like it. Whether you want to admit it or not, android is generally a lot more confusing to use than an iphone.

I don't understand why people want to bash other devices just because they don't like them.

I don't see this debate going any further. I guess we can just agree to disagree.

People who have the ability to learn and understand new technology, but are unfamiliar with both iOS and Android, can learn either equally as easily. Day-to-day functions are just as easy to do with Android as is with iOS. As you become more advanced, Android will unlock further capability.

Those who are just unable to learn new technology won't be able to operate either very well. I have seen this with hundreds of returned handsets. When you sell phones for several years you learn who will return what type of phone.

The people who like the iPhone were most likely sucked in by the hype that surrounds it. This hype has for many years damaged carriers who don't carry the iPhone. Every damn report I've read about Sprint's recent stock market issues have mentioned it's lack of iPhone. This will lead to one of two things:

a.) Sprint will get the iPhone 5 and likely end up having to change it's pricing structure.

b.) The last national carrier to offer unlimited data and better pricing will be bought out or go bankrupt because they don't carry a device that is only popular because of the hype that was created 4 years ago when it was actually ahead of it's time.

People don't understand the negative control that the iPhone has over the rest of the wireless market.
