Uninstalling Market

does anyone know the consequences of uninstalling Market? I ask because I can get any apps I need through download. When I fully disable market the performance on my tablet goes up in any benchmark I run. So why not uninstall it?

Is Market tied into the OS in any way that removing it might make it unstable or lose some performance?

Not to my knowledge, presumably you want to give a pad to someone but not allow them to install any other apps?

If that is the case you need to be aware there are plenty of other ways to do this so you had better be prepared to disable a lot more eg: Internet access...

nah this is just for me. Market really does slow the machine down and so far all the apps I have tried to kill it have to be run at each boot.

Sorry, I am not following you here.

Are you saying Market runs automatically each time you use the machine? Because it doesn't do so on mine. And if it isn't [running automatically] then it should have no effect whatsoever on the speed of the machine.

Perhaps you could clarify the situation for me...

How about a script that Force Closes it on boot instead?

I looked for any already written but no luck.

It loads into memory on startup affecting available free memory. Appkiller, Android Assistant both will out it on the kill list but then give an error saying they are unable to kill it n boot due to Google limitations and Optimizer Toolbox will mark it red in the startup but after boot it is the only app that goes back to green and is removed from the kill list. I suppose like how most uninstallers will not allow you access to uninstall system installed apps.

did you tried remove it by titanuim backup ? I can remove many app come with rom like skype, facebook, etc.
Yeah Titanium won't touch market. Root Uninstaller will do it and I have that. But currently I am trying to figure out why a stock rom I flashed is so much faster than the original or any of Tim's. It is faster with Market running than the others with the app killed..
