SPB Shell 3D on the Photon...loving it!

So, decided to try this launcher a few months ago for another device...priced at $14.95 I was skeptical. I downloaded it once more, to my new Photon...effin lovin it!

Love what it adds to my Photon experience. Yes, definitely overpriced...but totally changes your Photon to eye-candy goodness. I found the new Moto Blur to be rather bland IMO.

Loving the Message widget, totally dig the 3D carousel effect. The World Clock widget is fun, and the whole thing gives my Photon a quasi-Sense feel. Some cool looking / working widgets...and it flies on our Photon! Combined with Beautiful Widgets here and there I'm totally satisfied with my screen layout!

It's a bit of a memory hog @ roughly 90mb usage...but I tend to keep things skinny usually anyways, so no ill effects.

EDIT: I can't help but notice how lag-free this launcher is. I truly expected something so flashy to come with bunches of lag...SO not the case. Amazingly smooth. Also they've added rotate option now (I bought it a few months ago for another device so didn't know it had changed so much) for use in landscape!

Oh...here's the Market Link:

Oh wait wrong thread. :D

Yeah I got that app a while back when it was first announced and also thought it was alot of money, but it was really cool on my EVO 4G.

On the Photon with its dual core it runs really nice and smooth. But i took it off for the time being until I get used to the Default one since i am using multicon to add more shortcuts to my home screens. i want to see what all the fuss is about with the New Motorblur and want to try that for a few days.
I may go back to SPB eventually since I really like it.

Just curious as to whether any of you are still stoked about SPB on the MoPho? I always used SPB Mobile Shell on my WinMo phones, but never really considered it for my EVO due to the high cost. I'm still leery of paying that much for a skin when we have so many other low cost or free options, but then again SPB has always made a favorite UI for me. Anyone using it care to update their experience on the MoPho? Is it worth the $15?

The app is great UNTIL the phone is docked. Then its nothing but force closes. The app is constantly redrawing as though it doesn't realize it needs to be in landscape. It only starts working right again AFTER I remove it from the dock.

In answer to your 2nd question, I'd have to scream NO!! When I'm home, my phone stays docked so to have an app that's not playing nice with the dock feels like $15 out the window.

Have I contact SPB yet- no...not yet. I've got some serious life issues taking place which puts my thoughts of this app on the back burner.

EDIT: Since I found the time to make this post, I went ahead and contacted support and rec'd my ticket #. It states they'll contact me in 1-2 business days but it could take up to 5 days.

I bought it and used it, and thought it was great... for about 3-4 days, then lots of forced closes, and freezes and battery dying in 4-6 hours....

Complained to the dev, and they offered me a refund...

Been running stock ever since... amazing battery life; between 24 to 36 hours.... w/ heavy use ie: 3-4 hours listening to music, 10-15 3-10min phone calls, 75-100 texts, 2-3 hours web surfing, forums, blogs, etc.

IMHO - It was nice, slick, (when it was working), fancy eye candy, but not worth the battery hit.

I have a question. I heard it doesn't work in landscape mode. If that's the case how do you video chat or use the video camera? Does it crash on you then? I'm thinking of getting the dash mount also so I'm worried that might crash the phone if I install it then I'm out of the 15 bucks for the launcher, because I'd rather use the mount.
