After running 1G +, not even anticipating for 2.1!

I just replaced the Cortex-A8 in my phone with a 1GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 MPCore. It took a little tweaking the ROM, I won't bore you with the details, but it works very smoothly. I too think the official 2.1 is going to be great and can't wait. I'll probably overclock it to 1.5GHz once 2.1 is released, but I don't need to right now.

You have my full and undivided attention. Please... bore me with the details.

of course there is. Otherwise everyone would be running their phones at 10000000000ghz.

(except for the iPhone people, because Apple has told them that despite any gains, they still want to run it at a very slow speed. They always want what they are told they do. )

He stated that he has physically changed the CPU in his phone. We are all waiting on more information. If he isn't full of crap, then I am VERY intrigued as to what he has to say.

I would love to but it is extremely risky. If you don't already know what to do there's a 95% chance you would fry your phone. I know you guys are smart enought not to try it but know there are others that aren't. I don't want the guilt of knowing some poor ignorant person killed their phone just because they figured they could do it.

Don't worry when Android 5.0 comes out you will be able to buy an upgrade kit off Newegg.com. I know this because I can travel to the future. I say in this time though. Trust me the future isn't pretty.

So I guess I am late to this party, Joe what do you recommend? Is 1.1 really stabe or should I go with 1ghz?

The newest 1.1GHz kernel allows you to throttle down to 800 at times too. But, so far, I don't see a reason to. I've been at 1.1 for days now. And she is running very nicely.

i guess if youre an adrenaline junkie, go with 1.1 lol

You make "adrenaline junkie" sound like a bad thing. :D

hmm i think im going to wait and see if anyones phone dies before i try this on me wifes droid

Not sure if I'm interpreting this right but...you're going to tweak your wife's droid? Hopefully with her permission, no? :D

I think my husband would have it coming if he tried to tweak my droid. Especially since he is still using a dumbphone

so i just overclocked my droid to 1.1GHz,
i have to say, its pretty damn awesome!
before i overclocked all i could wait for was 2.1 update
now im not even worried about it lol,
anybody else agree??

Overclocked 2.1 with Flash is now what I am truly waiting for. If we see desirable results with overclocking now...we are going to really need it when we have flash ads and banners, games, videos, etc. loading on web pages!
