New Android "Market" driving me crazy

So the new market became available to me early this morning. I have three apps in my system that I will not update for various reasons. Now this new Market wants to constantly remind me via notification that there are updates available for these apps. In the old marketplace settings, you could set the market to not notify you of updates, which I did. Now that setting is gone. I am hoping someone has as suggestion on how to get rid of these horrible notifications, without having to update my apps.

My phone (SGS4G) has been rooted since I got it. I used to get notifications on the front screen, now I have to dig through each app. So rooting had nothing to do with that change. I also did not change any setting in Titanium backup. The notice that TB ran is also missing from the notification bar. This started about 2-3 weeks ago. Something changed that - what could have if I did not make any changes myself?

How did you revert back? I have to do this!!! These notifications are driving me insane!!! Every time I look at my phone that stupid icon is there telling me I have 6 apps that can be updated.

On a side note, does an application exist that disables ALL notifications on the phone?

Two things you can do. Look up the articles covering the market update. Follow their instructions to revert back.

Or

Get a program that makes back ups of apps. Even if you're not rooted, programs like Titanium Backup and others will let you make backups of apps. Once you make a backup, find the backup on your SD card. Install it. You need to give Android permission to install apps from unknown sources. It'll ask you to overwrite your previous app. Say yes. Or uninstall the old one first then install your backup app. The market knows which apps it installs, and only checks for updates on apps it installs. Now that you've sideloaded these apps, the market will never check for them.
