I haven't tried it on my prevail, but Vignette is my camera of choice. You can buy it in the market, or indulge in piracy.

Thanks, I will give it a try. Personally, I do not believe in piracy of Android apps. There are so many that are free and the ones that are not are ridiculously cheap for the features they provide.

Honestly with such (dismal) hardware specs I am not going to worry about the camera app, why spend money on one that will not do any better job.

Excellent point. I have little experience with cameras in general, so I look at it as a learning experience to prepare me for future phones/cameras that I will then be better equipped to use properly.

If the photos look like crap now I am too old and blind to tell the difference anyway.

There are a few camera apps on the market that are free. You can try giving those a try and see if you like it rather then the Samsung Stock one that comes with the Prevail. Other then nighttime pictures, I've really haven't had any issues with my Samsung Camera :)
