I really want to get this phone, and most likely will by the end of this week.. But browsing forums, I see a lot of people having the phone reset needing to take the battery out, hearing voice echoes on voice calls, having freezing issues and etc..

But I'm sure there are a lot of people with the phone that aren't making a thread that basically says their phone is working as it should lol...

So please vote for me as well as others on the brink of buying the phone :D

I put in the "other" vote. Mine was simply acting wonky with the haptic feedback, it would randomly just keep vibrating like someone was hitting a button on the screen. I only had it for a day when it started, it was very odd...then the home button just wouldn't work. I've hard reset it and had no problems since then over the weekend.

I've seen "little" issues here and there that seem to go away whenever I power off and on, so that really doesn't bother me much.

I think "issues" really depends on a person's perception of what an issue is and what isn't one. In my case, I've dealt with bigger issues that my Windows Mobile phones had that I was way less tolerant of than any "issues" I had with the EVO and now the Photon, so my tolerance level for the ones I've experienced is really high.

That said, as long as the phone doesn't go completely bonkers after 1 year, I'll be fine with any little oddities that pop up. Now, if it does go bonkers on me, anything within the 45 day (Silver Rewards) return window at Best Buy is fine by me...LOL.

nor a real issue, but the bottom of my phone squeaks, and seems loose, not sure if it is the design of the phone, but clearly can push the bottom in, and it moves
seen this a few times, one guy said he returned it and the new one didn't

Seems really hit or miss, guess I'll just get one when I have the money, and if I experience any issues ill return : / lol

I just got mine a couple hours ago, battery is now dead, so no issues as of yet. I ll report later after I get some use.

Although it is laggy when scrolling side to side on the home screens, but it isnt laggy when im scrolling in my apps list or contacts, etc.

I just came from a t-bolt and alot of people reported problems with that phone also, but I didnt have any issues myself.

I had an issue right in the beginning - not sure how much was the BB sales person who really should have been training still not setting some things up right and not sure how much it was something else. The battery life was crappy right away. So I reset the phone and updated my profile and PRL. Haven't had any issues since - knock on wood.

In the poll I said I had no issues only because I think the BB lady did screw things up and it wasn't a phone issue as much as a girl clicking funky settings for me ;)

That's your problem right there. I NEVER let them set up my phone. They really don't know much about phones. They are VERY good at sales and being friendly when it comes to returns, but the technical side of things...LOL.

I so agree! I already talked to Best Buy about the experience and it was nice to have them listen. I didn't even realize she was doing things to my phone until after the fact. I thought she was just having to press a button 3 times for some reason. Duh on my part....

Apparently she shouldn't have been selling solo anyway. Last time I went they just handed the phone over to me as soon as it turned on. Much preferable to me ;)

Haha...it's all good. As long as you figured it out and set the phone up for your needs, whatever she did that messed up the settings sometimes are the same reasons people actually go onto these forums to complain of issues.

Next time you go to Best Buy mobile, just ask them to activate the phone based on the sku, but you'll put everything together and test it out when you get home. They'll do it. They try to throw out some b.s. that they have to open the phone to activate it and be sure that it's working, but that can all be done without actually taking the phone out of the box. I know because that's what happened when I upgraded to the Photon. The guy was kind enough to ask, "do you want me to set it up for you or do you want to just do that on your own?" I told him that I'll take it home to set it up because I want to charge it fully first, prior to doing anything. Once I got home, I did just that...and then turned the phone on to make sure the line was connected.

As of this post, only 39% have a problem free Photon. Awesome.

I think that's very misleading. You're taking a very small sample source that is also the most vocal.

It should also be noted that my problem seemed to be a Blur problem and not with the Photon...I would guess a few of the issues are also due to Blur's interaction with Android and not specific to the Photon itself.

I understand that a forum could have a critical slant, but regardless this phone clearly has some issues even if that's being based upon such a small group. These are unacceptable problems that shouldn't have ever been present in 1% of the phones, let alone anything more significant. A phone that literally can't properly make a phone call whenever you ask it to is not phone at all.

I'm not sure how a problem with Blur is not a problem with the Photon, but it's a bit irrelevant since the later doesn't allow you to bypass the other (without custom rom).
